Well, We've had it with the cold - after nearly 11 years. So Im packing up all the stuff - including the collection and moving to Greenville, SC at the end of the month. So now I have to find some collectors/hobbyists in the area for my hookups. Im gonna miss the ones up here I have gotten to know and has hooked me up a time or two (Franklin, MtZrcade, Takeman - just to name a few) too many to list in 1 post. LOL!
So you south east guys - whos around down there? I know Ill be closer to Dale, but who else? Anybody out that way?
So now for the main question. I have 24 or so machines to move. I plan on wrapping them with wrap, but what to pad them with underneath thats not too damn expensive? Id hate to have to rent or buy like 50 blankets.
thanks!

I think you will like the Greenville area.. Im only a few miles away!!

Far as shipping.. no need to pad under them.

Get a rental truck that has the E-channel down the center of the box

Buy a bunch of ratchet tie down straps

use your linens from your house in between the cabs and ratchet them in rows (most uprights should go 4 wide with some leftover space)

I have moved truckloads of cabinets (by myself usually)

Liftgate is a must too. Side door helps.

Penske is my preferred brand

Load the games in the front for weight and ride quality too!!!

When you get settled, let me know like to see your collection!!

I am in Lawrenceville GA (Metro Atlanta) about 100 miles south of Greenville. Nice little daytrip if you want to come down and hang in the Mancave. Good shopping and dining around here too. We have a few KLOVers in this area. Let us know when you make it down.

Pads are only like a dollor each to rent. Just be sure to return them folded up neatly, or you may see a service charge after the rental. Most moving trucks today have rub bars for the back, but I would still rent enough pads to put between each game. The rub bars can usually handle ratchet straps, lightly tightened.

what Id like to do is wrap a pad around the game and then wrap it with the cling wrap. I was hoping someone had a line on a roll of 1/4" foam to roll around the cabs instead of a blanket. Figured it may be cheaper and I can have it done well before I have to pick up the truck(s)

We shall miss ya in these parts Jeff. So I take it the Star Wars I have will have to go to someone else? Still holding onto it.... Good luck and don't forget to think of us during Dec/Jan up here. Actually I still like the cold -- too many fun winter sports.

Kev,
Thanks so much for holding on that as long as you did. I just never had enough to put the deal together. :( Bummer cause its second on my gotta have list. If I try to take any money for games now the wife will break my hands - lol!

My wife would like to move to one of the Carolina's someday. I have to agree I can't stand this cold either. Let us know how it is next year after winter. lol

Dang, I thought he was buying MY Star Wars. Maybe he wanted 2 of them? Okay Jeff, who was giving you the better deal? (probably not me or else you would have bought it by now).

When are you moving?

We are thinking about Charlotte or back to Charleston, SC, where I lived before California. If so, I'll drop you a line.

Sorry about that joe, bottom line is they were both out of my price range. Kevin was going to make me a deal without the monitor (it was a 6100) since I already had one (my tempest spare), but I still couldnt come up with that big of coin.
Nothing personal - I saw both machines and they both are REAL nice! Its just a higher cost machine that I could never seem to get it all together at once. I guess im stuck in the sub $500 machines :(

I used these big peices of cardboard from Uline when I moved. I got an oversized sheet, and just bent them around all the edges, and then shrink wrap the heck out of them.
