I want to clean the header pins on my Atari Sys2 pcb. The previous owner had soldered a couple wires directly to the pins and I replaced it with trifurcon pins and a plastic housing. The header pins are a bit dirty with a minimal amount of old solder on them. What's an effective technique/tool for cleaning them?

Copper bristle brush? Sandpaper? Heat & solder sucker?

Thanks.

Depending on how rough they are, I sometimes use a brass detailing brush. Most of the time I just replace them. No point in messing up perfectly good connectors just to save a couple of bucks.

I use driveway acid wash with a fat wire brush attachment on a high-speed drill.
