So I've had these pieces from an EDOT back half for oh, 13 years now. I've been carrying them around with me through 4 homes, a storage unit, and now I finally have a reproduction back half of an EDOT cabinet to put them in. Carried the glass back from the storage unit, got it into the basement, set it down just a hair too hard in JUST the right spot and BANG.

Fortunately, it was just the grid glass, not the "billboard" piece, but it's about the last straw for me. PLEASE.. someone tell me this was reproduced? I'm likely to "ragequit" the restore at this point.

Dude! That sucks.

The good news is that the piece you broke is any easy design to reproduce.
The bad news is I don't think anyone is currently working on it.

Sucks :-( i have heard glass breaking storys enough that i will only lay bezels etc. down on something soft.

That's the result of setting it down a little hard? Looks as if you threw it down, jumped on it, and then ran it over with a light cycle.

Sorry man, that does suck for such a rare part.
If it makes you feel any better, we've all probably got similar stories of woe.
Personally, I've ruined a perfectly good Tron marquee with a heat gun too close, misaligned new missile command side art while installing, fried a perfectly good Blaster PCB set just by being careless(it's fixed), etc...etc...I'm sure there's more that I've tried to forget:)

If you give up on the project i will buy it from you...for a reduced price.... since that glass is hard/almost impossible to come by. ;)

Just kidding.

OUCH - we have all done it (broken a glass) forturnately for me mine was from a Spy Hunter upright and I was able to find a replacement fairly reasonably.

Try forum member Don1400. I sold him my extra grid glass a number of years ago - THe grid glass on his EDOT wasnt terrible but he replaced it with the one I sold him. For a while I remember he had it laying around in his basement - maybe he still has it.

Wow man, that's a sad sight. I have one that's peeling badly, so I also need a reproduction. I was considering scanning and vectoring myself, then sending to a local printer. So far I have done none of those things.

BumP
Yeah with the help of Prok who provided me with scans and vecotrs Im going to have these done soon.
Glass is on order and moving this into Q
color sperations and test prints are done

Ill be posting an update on DOT art this week
stay tooned....
