Okay. I've read through the other threads that pertain to this part on the machine. Has anyone actually solved this problem on the Discs of Tron Environmental?

We are working on a EDOT that is a cut version. We pulled the monitor out yesterday and capped it. After we replaced the monitor and the boards, we noticed that one of the red lights was stuck in the "ON" position. The sequence still chases when Sark is hit but that one light on both sides stays on.

Any clues or recommendations?

One of the mps2222a has gone bad. Use diode test or resistance test on a multimeter and replace the one that doesn't match the others.

So that is the transistors that causes the lamp to get "stuck" on? Are these components flaky?

Is there a replacement part available through mouser or digikey for these? This part number is shown as obsolete.

If you want to bullet proof this board replace the 2222a's with TIP122's, only problem the pinouts are different, you'll need to twist pin 1 (base) of the TIP122 behind pin2 (collector) then solder to board. Looks funky but I haven't had one fail since the replacement was made.

Looks like it needs to use the bathroom :)

Thanks very much. I'm ordering 50 of the transistors and 50 of the diodes. I'll order the resistors also so I have all the components and can make my minimum order. LOL. I wish all electronics for this board were available on jameco.

Does anyone make a replacement board for this machine? The light sequencer is a fairly simple board and program right? Seems as though someone could easily recreate this board with a PIC/Arduino and some transistors?

Hmm. Is there a problem if you are having to replace all of them? They are pretty close together.
