Greetings all.

Need a bit of help.

Got an EDOT (Thanks FIZGIG!) It rocks!!

Light sequencer boards needs a bit of work - Red lights to left and right of monitor not working at all....

Have been digging around a bit.

Most of what I "think" I know is this

#1 Replace / retrofit the transistors on the sequencer board

#2 Also - replace the Tantalum CAP on the sequencer board.

Yes? No?

Also, can't seem to find any info on the "Retrofit" workaround for the transistor swapout

Can anyone post a link?

Someone mentioned Mark Jennison / MARRS - but his site does not really go into detail about this "mod"

Thanks in advance

Regarding the transistor swapout, saw a post on this years ago the mod used TIP122's, you had to cross two of the tranistor legs cause pinout not the same. Looks funky but gets the job done, haven't had one fail yet.

Cool

Thx for the pix Rich

Much appreciated

Is there a previous "thread" on this mod anywhere?

Congrats on getting the lights fixed. About 2 years ago I came across an article on bullet proofing the sequencer PCB by replacing the MPS2222A transistors with TIP 122's. Here's the link to the article: http://girasoli.org/arcade/?p=202
I made the change and haven't had a problem since.

That's an old post from Rich where he linked to Anthony Girasoli's site "Tony's arcade". The wayback machine has a number of captures of the site so if you spend a fair amount of time there you may find the original post. Good luck Rob :)

FWIW here's a link to Tony's old site regarding the squawk and talk.
