Ok everyone I finally got my EDOT this was a deal a did with a op a couple yrs back and finally got him to deliver it to my house. Its not for sale at this point so please don't PM me and ask. At some point it may or may not be. Its complete, all original, no water damage and never been cut, it needs art but that's the least of my worries.

Ok so here is the issue, when I aquried it I knew it worked just played blind, G07(Bad Flyback) so I get it deliered, we get it into the garage and fire it up, just as I remembered it 2yrs ago bad hum from the audio amps (Transitors) and sparking Flyback, but game coins up and plays, you can run it through the test on Squawk and Talk and it works fine.

I close up the garage and decide ill get to it in a couple days, so the other day I get into it and pull the monitor, for those that don't have a EDOT this is not fun, I remove the old Chasis, replace with a good tested one and reinstall. Now I fire up the game and low and behold no neck glow and still playing blind, I meter the power going to the monitor and nothing. Here's where it gets weird, I turn the game off and back on and now I blow the first first on the power block and no game anymore? So I go through all the suspect stuff, shorting out, bad connection on the fuse holder(clean those) possible short coming from the MCR, check that nothing bad there. Ok I recheck everything again reseat connectors etc and am still blowing fuses with no game. I get fustrated and stop. Next day I return put in a new fuse and just try it figuring its gonna blow and low and behold game works still no monitor!

So now I'm confused thinking its the Big Blues, so the deal is this the first one is a 55,000 MFD and someone replaced the second one with a 150.000MFD and it doesn't even fit in the hole on the brick. No biggie I have tested working ones so I will replace. I turn off the game remember it was working playing blind and I did nothing, before I change the big blues I decide to turn it on again, POOF fuse blows! WTF, ok now I'm sure its gotta be big blues, I change them to tested working ones and still poof blows the fuse. I'm beyond fustrated, I'm sure tomorrow it will work so I'm lost.

Just a couple other questions as I don't have Schematics or a manual what is the original Rating for the big Blues, the other question is there is about 13 Green and Yellow stripped wires that plug into the power brick on top, for me to remove the brick from the cab I will need to remove these. Do they need to go into the order they are installed or are they a coomon ground and can plug in any order? I have not removed the entire block from the game as I didn't remove these wires.

Just FYI for those thinking its a monitor issue, I tried plugging in another tested working monitor and still dead and still nothing.

So where do I go now? Is the ISO dead? What should I check? Remember when I first got it the original chasis was arcing and getting power!

Any help would be much appriciated as I'd really like to play my EDOT as I've waited 2yrs to get it to my place!

Thanks again

On my UDOT, I had an issue with 3 things on my brick.

With the brick out of the game, flip it over.

If I recall correctly (it is early) -
  • The "Big Blue" (only used for Atari ;)) should be a value of 55000 and 100000. Order from Bob if you don't have.
  • The rectifier. Meter test.
  • The diodes (there are 4 of them). Meter test them.
For the most part, those are really the only things that can go out. Rarely, a transformer will.

The 13 green/yellow wires are connections for the grounding straps on the top of the brick. No particular order needed, just a tight connection. (To be sure, snap a pic of exactly what you speak of) Or, just trace them to see where they goto.

After the brick has been tested, time to move to the linear.

It's a start!

Also, I have a manual found online if you need. Pics won't upload.
