Editing in conversations shouldn't be allowed. It allows for sellers who make offers to go back and change their minds. There should be a record of what was really said in a conversation and it should be locked in. Not talking about posts just conversations..

For PMs (aka Conversations or Private Messages), this limit is 5 minutes. >>> seems reasonable to me.

Editing post in other forums is still screwed up, IMHO. Especially the New Products section.

Interesting...well I guess sellers who get higher offers within 5 mins can move to whoever they want and cover it up. I guess I'm too fast on reading my PMs!

As far as i remember, you cannot edit a conversation response once the recipient sees it.

It's fine the way it is.

If the seller is that much of a douchebag then you dont want to buy from him anyways.

I was able to see it and retain it via notifications.

Um yeah that's how that works. The notifications system isn't going to wait to see if someone decides to edit their conversion....It's not an AI or a mind reader...

We tested it awhile back, I was able to edit the messages after you'd already read them in a conversation. Personal opinion, I'd just treat conversations like SMS or email and make them lock once sent, people can just follow up with correction messages if they mistyped something or decided to change their mind.

There is no formal commitment for agreements or purchases that I've seen here anyway, and none are posted in the rules in the trade section, so if anything people just learn who are flaky sellers and avoid transactions with them. Different story if you already sent payment but there seems to be a process for that.

Ah yep, you are right. 5 mins is the edit threshold.
