Hi my name is Wayne. I'm a friend of Ed's. He asked me to post this here. He has had a minor stroke today and right now cannot type. He will be okay. But has a ways to go according to the doctors. So he is not going to be repairing monitor chassis as of right now for awhile. I know he has a few that need to be repaired. I have been in the coin-op business for many years and have a gentleman who is going to repair any GO7's K4900's and K7000's that he has. Any other chassis will be sent back to their owners unrepaired.

Ed has also asked me to apologize for not being able to repair them.

Best wished to Ed and hope for a speedy recovery. This is sad to hear as he is a great guy and has helped me in the past.

Ed, if you're reading this... Get well soon. I can relate: My other half had a major stroke/brain aneurism last year due to complications after child birth (post partum pre-eclampsia).

Through hard work and therapy, she is back to normal a year later and back to work full-time. It's a long road but it will all work out.

Again, first time meeting you (never had a monitor repair through you) but I can sympathize with your situation.

God speed.

Jason

I'm making this one a sticky thread for now. If another mod has a different way to handle, it that will be fine with me.

I wish Ed the best.

I called him two days ago and left a voice mail , he mighta mentioned me to you
my name is steve.
He calls me from time to time to make sure i am ok..
Do me a favor and tell him when you see him that he has my support.

Ed, I hope you have a speedy recovery.

And that was a classy move having your friend Wayne come on here and explain what happened so people wouldn't be upset about the repairs.

Actually im sorry to here this too.. recovering from something like that had to be very difficult for the both of you .
I didnt have a stroke but i had a nice date with a glass sunroof and my skull.
I suffer from partial brain damage , loss of hearing and sight now but i never complain
because im still alive . Ed called at least once a week to pick on me .
When he recovers,, ill be calling him once a week to pick on him lol.

I've dealt with Ed a few times, he's a class act. I'm sorry it happened, but i'm glad it was only a minor stroke Ed. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, hopefully you can use this to avoid any future problems. If there is anything i can do i'd be glad to help.

Got a call from him last night... he beat me to picking on him and got me instead lol.
He is resting still, he has a history with heart problems so he needs to start taking it easy.
I dont think hes gonna be taking anymore repair work for a while .
But the old bastard is still alive and kicking.
All kidding aside. Ed will still be around to offer advice for monitor repair on the forums
but his wife put the brakes on him stressing himself out in the work shed .
When he gets better he will more likely be working on his classic mustang and going to car shows.
