EBAY: Used 19" WG Monitors (not mine)

I picked up 2 at 75. each, heavy burn also. I am gonna do a not as described dispute. He is selling them for another operator and never even saw the condition of them he says. But he is checking to see what if he can do about it.

Oh boy... I am now so looking forward to tomorrow (not). Bottom line is that there better be no burn or slight burn or there's gunna be issues.

1. Seller should have known better selling products that he hasn't personally expected.

2. You guys should have known this was most likely too good to be true.

Hopefully the seller makes things right, because he will be bombarded by negatives if not.

Some pics. First one even comes with deep scratches in the tube n/c.

The only way to "make it right" in my book would be to take the monitors back and pay for return shipping. Even then, I am ass-out on a monitor I really was counting on making this a screwed deal still.

I have warned you guys about this seller before. He uses the same pictures for all his auctions. As for selling them for an operator. Dont believe it. I know the guy personally and he lives about 30 miles from me. We buy monitors from the same source and at 80-100 that he is selling them for, he is making alot of money since i know what he pays for them.

90% will have screen burn, becuase the operator pulls them from 8-liner machines. He is upgrading his machines to LCD monitors now so some might not have screen burn, but more than likely do. Im guessing that they are all WG 7203 for the CGA monitors as the operator bought tons of those and i have bought about 200 of them from him myself.

The part about not inspecting them is BS. Unless he is just being lazy and not even opeing the boxes. But he lives about 85 mile sfrom the operator and buys a truckload at a time. His brother works for the operator as well

Good luck guys

Is his last name Parry, shipping label info, If so then he is full of chit of not seeing them and selling for someone else. Off to ebay to file a dispute if so. And naturally leave a neg.

He just sent me this message via email.

i am sorry about this i am selling these for another vendor and do not have control over what is sent out i will talk to them about it.

I got mine today. It has burn also. Not terrible but noticeable. It does have a good pic at least when turned on. I was disappointed though because I got one from them two weeks ago and it was practically brand new, no burn, no scratches and just a little dust... I'd be happy with a $10-15 refund. A CRT with burn and a good pic beats a LCD anyday...

Hey Frizz, your monitor show up yet? Curious to see what you pulled out of the proverbial grab bag.

Not yet... UPS has it on their truck though. When I get it depends on the driver I get. One driver tends to show up between 10am to 2pm and the other tends to show up after 5PM all the time.

Alright... I got the package delivered vis UPS. This is what I received...

The monitor box was dented in a bit on two sides and the top was barely holding on due to a shit taping job. Things didn't look too promising.

I then opened the box to find...

HOLY SHIT!! That's just about the worst packing job I've seen for a monitor ever. I know it's the worst I'd ever received. Even worse than those guys at 8liners. I am absolutely STUNNED the neck wasn't snapped. I've not yet plugged her in to see if she works... but it actually looks like it somehow made it with that completely shit packing job... The dented sides of the box were to the front and rear! There was about an inch between the box wall and the neckboard!

So I pull it out... expecting to find massive burn. This is what I got...

Not terrible (not as bad as some posted here) but certainly not "slight burn" in my opinion. I am on the fence with this one. Do I demand my dough back and the guy take his monitor back? Do I ask for a discount? Do I just neg his ass go from there? What to do. The burn isn't TERRIBLE... I'd put it at "somewhat light" burn-in or "medium-light" burn-in. It wouldn't be noticeable behind dark plexi... but it sure as shit isn't "slight burn" in my opinion. What say you folks?

One thing I know FOR SURE. This dooshnozzle is being added to my "do not do business with" list. That pack job was just...wow.

The issue I see is that "slight burn" is too subjective, so I can't really fault them on that part of it. Had they say "no burn", then yes, I would be pissed about that.

That packing job on the other hand is horrible. I'm also amazed that you got the monitor in one piece. Especially since it was via UPS...

If the monitor works, I would demand a refund on the shipping charges and leave NO feedback. However, if the monitor had ANY damage, I would demand a FULL refund and leave a Negative feedback if you don't get it.

Before we even get to the burn... After shipping and that pack job, does it even work? How is the image when on? It is probably borderline light to moderate burn. At best he would get a Neutral, but would really be leaning on a neg with such a crappy pack job. Who knows what was damaged by the shipping that is going to fail tomorrow as a result.

Well they do say "slight burn" and show this image in their auction...nor do they indicate that the actual monitor shown ISN'T the monitor being shipped. I call shenanigans.

1. ask for a refund on shipping

2. neg him

if you aren't happy with the item and you feel like you have been wronged then please leave a negative. Think abolut it this way; If you wouldn't do business with them again, why let anyone else fall for it. be as detailed as possible in the 90 characters or whatever they give you. no one pays attention to neutral feedback

Alright... I just plugged it in and it does work... it's nice and bright and the colors appear to be fine (though I was using WoW so the color spectrum isn't the best in that game). I am not sure what I am going to do... I DO feel like I didn't get what I paid for. Had I known there was this much burn I'd have either not offered on the listing or I'd have offered less...

We'll see how he deals with this situation. I just shot him out an email with both photos for comparison purposes. I gave him two options... full refund and he pays to have this monitor shipped back to him or a $40 discount as that is more in line with what I'd offer for a monitor with this much burn. I also mentioned his packing job left a lot to be desired but since it made it, it's a moot point.

If the guy gives me NO SHIT and chooses option 1 or 2... he gets a neutral... if he gives me ANY SHIT at all... he gets a neg. The bottom line is the guy misrepresented the items he had for sale in both saying they had "slight burn" and by using a very nice looking low/no burn monitor as the "example picture" without mentioning he fact the monitor being depicted is not the actual monitor being sold.

I think that all makes sense except the last part. If there is one picture and 8 monitors for sale I think it is obvious that there are monitors not pictured.

Good luck on him taking 1 or 2.
