Ebay Rant!

Yeah, its BS but ebay is a 'community' (yeah right) where buyers (and sellers) rely on feedback to judge who to buy from.

Without your explicit feedback on this guys shipping time, you are screwing someone else down the road...Dooming them to the same fate of having to wait 13 days for a coin door light bulb!

I almost feel like blocking all these guys if they give a neg. for a slightly delayed shipping time. :D Man, wtf. One thing is for sure. Don't buy crap on ebay that you need the next day for a project because you sure as hell won't get it the next day or two or whatever. I have had people message me that they need it within a day or whatever. I have a life too and could give a flying you know what if you need it in x amount of time. Of course I will try my best but man is that a turn off. If you needed it now then why not find an operator close to you that has it on hand and don't buy from me and then make demands. But that's what you get on ebay. Demands and low ball offers to end your auctions.
If I felt like the shipping really took too long from a seller I might give the guy less than 5 stars on shipping time but a neg on the whole deal because you can't finish your project on time??? Why is that the sellers problem??? As a seller I could care less about something like that. I usually am able to ship pretty fast but sometimes I can't get to the P.O. for a week because of holidays or whatever and this thanks giving was one of those times. I'm calling impatience shenanigans on this one. :D

The items arrived in good condition so thats the end of this ebay saga.

I will say 13 days to ship something that you promise to ship out in 3 days..with no explanation for the delay is not "impatience shenanigans" my friend...just typical ebay bullshit.:D

I never expect something on my door step the next day..even when I purchase a buy it now item...so there is no low ball offer issue or anything like that..I paid what they asked..just someone who thinks they can ship whenever they want....so won't be purchasing from that seller again.

End of Discusssion.;)

2 weeks to ship is bull, regardless of the 30 day rule. if you check the shipping area it states how long the seller expects it to take to ship the item after payment is recieved, and every seller here knows hes had to fill this out for every auction hes listed in the last year. If he put down 2-4 days and then took 2 weeks Id be upset too.
Thats not the only place though. I bought a part online 10 days ago, paid the required priority shipping, got the notification email that payment was recieved and item will ship in 3-5 business days, and that Id recieve an email when it shipped. emailed yesterday (7th business day)to check and recieved the reply "maybe tomorrow, behind right now"

If he said 3 days then that is BS but I still wouldn't neg. him for the whole deal, maybe a 1 start for sloth like shipping time. :D

I like the term "sloth like shipping time" I may use that...still deciding what I'm going to do on the feedback..probably just give him shitty rating on shipping..after all that was the issue..plus he gave me positive feedback already so no harm..no file...I'm not having a good month...

I expect my crap shipped the next day if I pay for 2nd or 3rd day. But when I sell It is more like when i get to it but within 3-4 days max. Unless I do not have a box, some items take a little longer, due to boxes, And I HATE MAKING BOXES. What is KLOV's shipping guide lines?

Common courtesy says it should not take 2 bloody weeks to ship an item unless there was an massive act of God that kept you from getting the item to the Post Office.
Since your item did eventually come intact, I would leave positive feedback, but spell out the fact that a rediculous amount of time passed before the item was finally shipped.

I ordered my Secret Santa's recipients' gift via eBay almost two weeks ago, and got the "shipped" confirmation yesterday... had he waited much longer, I'd be f***.

No...Ebay's 30 day policy is because "SHIT HAPPENS".

I forgot to ship something that was paid for back in June, until OCTOBER. Private sale, but regardless....(Some users may know why, it's personal and boy did shit happen)
Buyer didn't contact me until then, so I didn't remember as I wasn't visiting the sites I did these private transactions on where the info was left in PMs.

If you get no explanation however, and you were LIED to about it being shipped when it wasn't....negative for sure.

interesting, Two views for you.

This is a thread which makes great Ebay debate two ways..

I have been a very active seller in the past, and a active buyer in spurts. (usualy stuff i don't "need"). As a seller I know Ebay has their "guidelines" and regulations. But there is also a courtesy factor. Why take more than a few days to shipp?. If your spending the time to list a item, Pack the item so you know how much it will cost to shipp You also know when the auction will end. So there Is NO suprise when it comes to the auction ending and it will need to ship within a few days. I notice so many sellers will say "Payment due within 48 hours" Well As a courtesy Sellers should offer the same.
I know me personally would try my damndest to get the item out within 3 - 4 days.

There is a allowance of what ever insane amount of time per ebay regulations.
I even have one right now that I can not pay due to his pay pal not working, Phone number goes to voicemail, and no response to email. as of now 14 days or more later ebay told me consider it a dead deal.

So I don't know call me old fashioned but I think common courtesy should be the rule. If ya know its selling, have it packed ready to go and just have it ready to go.

Another aspect is the BLOATED SHIPPING COSTS.. Im sorry but EBAY dosen't enforce the over charging for shipping.. yes people say well if you bid then you accept. This is a great point and a reason I do not bid on a lot of items. there is a habitual issue of shipping costing lets say my last purchase. 4.33 paid by the seller (which was fraud on their end, by marking it as media mail and it wasnt) but if they shipped it right, the flat rate box 8.00 and they charged 13 or 14, this I would understand a little more IF they used real packing material instead of a newspaper. So with that said he paid 4.33 and charged almost 10.00 MORE..

and now I hear sellers can't leave feedback for the buyers????? I dunno Ive had a bidder who was MORE than clueless They left a false neg, Had me shipp to their OLD address and try to tell me they didnt get it. They NEVER contacted me, never even tried to.
but I had to pay 15 more than i sold the item for to clear the neg he left on my end. and in all reality i shoulda been able to rebutt and leave a neg for the buyer saying beware sell to at own risk.

So I dunno, Ebay home of over bloated shipping cost. and lack of common decency..
but where everthing is findable and buyable.....
its the Online Walmart You love to hate and still we all go back.

Normally I don't bother with these types of complaints because ebay sucks anyway ...so whats the point...but I guess I'm just tired of being the nice guy...

I'm trying to get a game done for a co-worker and need a particular part to finish it off...so i see the part I need for a buy it now listed on 11/23/09...Great don't have to wait and it will get here sooner as opposed to waiting for end of auction that could last a few days or week...so I pay the extra to get it right away through buy it now....I send two different emails a few days apart when over a week goes by and nothing.....finally get a reply that it was sent and is on the way..now I explain in email I'm aware the part was purchased three days before Thanksgiving so I'm willing to give it extra day or two due to that fact...but the tracking I finally get shows the thing was taken to post office today..Saturday Dec. 5.....13 days after I paid for it...WTF..now I'll be waiting until next week and I'm out of town and won't get the game done on time....

I'm sick and tired of fucking ebayers who sell shit but can't find time to ship..if your life is that busy then say your going to take two weeks to ship and I'll fucking move on to next auction..Best is charging me for priority after taking 13 days..like getting it in two days or three matters at this point..
That is all!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Rules is rules ladies and gents. If the seller has it setup to send you an invoice after the auction that is considered contact. They have full filled the 7 day contact policy. Roadrunner didn;t mention if that happened. If it didn't then Roadrunner has them dead to rights. And for the record I think the sellers ethics are shit - there is no excuse just so everyone knows I too feel Roadrunner got screwed. HOWEVER the fact remains rules are rules and it appears to me no one broke any rules if all the facts were supplied.

You placed your bid knowing the rules - we all do but we continue to buy from there.

Suck it up buttercup - if that's the worst thing that happens to you this month then it was indeed a good month.
