Hey Mike, glad you won it - congrats. I inadvertantly bid against you on the Turbo Ninja board way back, and I'm glad to say I didn't do the same again this time. There's no history of any other hacks containing a title with "kombo" in the MK history......but you never know. I hope you strike lucky.

Yes, there must be other hacks. I'm still pretty hacked off that I can't place that Toshiba chip after the house move. Completely at a loss. Maybe I mentioned this already, but I managed to buy the Y-unit board that daughter board was sat in and it had a different socket soldered in to where the normal DIL socket is found. I may have read posts that mentioned changes were made in the Y-unit board of certain hack editions, so you needed the original board for them to work, not just the daughter board. I know this daughter board did sit in an MK board once upon a time ago. I think the Toshiba chip is long lost, but I'm still hoping someone will come forward with a copy of that chip.
Can anyone remember the quote on the Y-unit board needing to be modified or did I dream that one up?

Yeah that is kinda weird. But makes me think, your daughter board with that toshiba chip does not has a clock crystal like the other nibble boards. I looks like it has 2 gal chips and maybe they did modify the game pcb to work in conjunction with the daughter board. If thats the case, it was some crazy mods. Would be nice if you could find the thread talking about it as it would make an interesting read.

Krazy kombo, I've never heard of that one before. I hope this new find is something different.
One thing though, you don't see a kombo board for years and usually 3 that turn up in quick succession, just waiting for that 3rd board to be listed.

Well it turns out it is a different hack but, it is actually an earlier version of Turbo 3.1. It seems kombo soft released beta versions of these hacks. Remember the nifty kombo hack? There where 2 versions of it. The one I got was like the beta version (666 edition) then there was the other version that got dumped around the same time with different text and game play affects called nifty kombo aswell. This version should be referred to as Turbo 3.0.

I commented on the vid, i'd actually prefer it over any of the other hacks. I've been standoff-ish on getting a hack rom set for MK1 because of the levitation

I agree with you entirely. In one player mode, if sub zero is your opponent and he catches you with a freeze the computer AI isn't good enough to dispatch you an uppercut. The computer usually punches thin air until you fall, where he only scores two light high punches on you. So, I'd be very interested in having this one in my collection, at least I'll take a beating off SZ if I'm not concentrating.

Well guys after some research and talking to another mortal kombat enthusiast I can confirm the existence of 2 more hacks, that are different than any of the ones we have seen so far. One in which i have seen video of it in action. I will give more details in the near future. Stay tuned.
