WOW!!!

Just got this from the seller:

My schedule looks good on Tuesday early evening. Would you be able to do that?

Looks like I might get it!

Last summer, I answered a craigslist ad for a small boat. I called the dude, set up a time to go pick it up. I showed up, and the dude was acting a little antsy. I check out the boat, decide to buy it, and we start to hitch it to my pickup. So here's where it gets good. A black Nissan SUV comes in behind us, slams the brakes, and a woman jumps out screaming. The seller says to me, in a hush tone "uh oh". Well, turns out, it's the dude's wife, and they are going through a divorce. The wife is screaming that he can't sell anything, it's all marital property, blah blah blah. Then the kids jump out of the SUV, screaming and bawling. A little boy, probably 5 years old runs up to me and says "YOU CAN'T TAKE MY MOMMY'S BOAT!!!! YOU JUST CAN'T!!!!!!!!'" I told the dude..."this isn't a good idea...I'm going to take off." The guy tries to tell me to just hitch it up, pay him, and he'll take care of the wife. The wife runs in the house, saying "I'm calling the police!!! You CAN'T SELL THAT BOAT!!!". The husband tells me to stick around, and he runs in the house. Once the husband is inside, I un-hitch the boat, and got the hell out of there.

It was....an interesting event.

I've got one even worse than that. This actually all happened to my Brother, but still. Guy calls us, wants us to work on a game for him, we get it going, it was like a roach coach Ms. pac Man, he comes and picks it up, blah blah blah he's going to bring us some more. He calls back, crying and says that his woman kicked him out of the house, he's moving back out of state, he can't bring the games (which he had previously called his babies), she's going to sell them to us if we'll go pick them up. So we go to the address, it's a trailer with about 3 kids and a fat slobby woman. We start rolling the games out, and one of the kids says "Why are they taking away the Operation Wolf?" or whatever it was, the mom says "You wanna eat don't you?". One of the other kids tells the other kid, "Daddy left, and he's NEVERRRRR COMMMMINNGGGG BACCCKKKK".

Saddest shit ever.

Seller emailed me with their phone number, address, and said to come get it on Tuesday. Wow. This might happen.

All the best...

Yeah, some people just need the space.

I knew a guy who bought a JEEP CHEROKEE, in great shape, for a couple of Gs.

Tuns out the seller just got a nice new second car for the wife (L.C.S.U.V.?)--and she wanted to park it in the garage where the JEEP was-----and she didn't want the JEEP parked out in front either--so he needed to move the JEEP asap. to keep her happy.

I once won a Sega Turbo cockpit on ebay for two dollars and seventy five cents, and the seller actually did hold his end up. Good luck!

Thats it. Im out. I got nothing. Damn. 0_o;

Hmm... low total transactions but at least not ZERO or 1. I'll go on record as saying this will happen.

+1 Sounds like they are going to make good, but for $27 aren't bending over backward to accommodate.

Look at ir from his perspective. Buyer basically gets it for free. Do you accommodate their schedule, or expect them to accommodate yours.

Get in contact with ebay resolution center. I have always had bad transactions turn out better than I hoped for. If nothing less the resolution center will add a note to this seller's file and revoke the trader from ebay if this type of behavior continues.

...or maybe the OP should chill out and let the seller make the first move to flake before freaking out. The seller hasn't said or done anything to make the buyer think he is backing out (In fact, you seem to have a date/time). Having people show up to your house, even to just pick something up, requires some schedule organization. Especially when it's a big ass arcade machine.

If you say or do anything other than working out a pick up at this point, you're just going to come off awkward at best.

Agree 100%

Going to pick the machine up at 5PM today. I'll let you know how it goes.

Great news!

I've been following this thread, and I had my fingers crossed for you.
