So I won a working Golden Tee 2K for $27. Seller emails me and tells me they have to work, but will get back with me on a time to come pick it up.

What are the chances that the seller flakes and refuses to sell me the machine? I can't imagine they are too happy that it sold for $27.

They didn't flake yet, but they also didn't give me a time to pick it up. I'm not holding my breath.

What is their EBAY feedback rating? How many transaction? That will tell you whether you'll get your cab or not...or at least will give you a good indication.

Ebay # 110763078850

I email the seller, asking them if they want PayPal or cash, and if I can pick it up tomorrow (Which is now today.)

Seller replies...

I prefer cash but tomorrow I will be working.

I reply "Thanks for getting back with me. Let me know when is best to come get it."

Seller replies...

Let me check my schedule and I will get back to you later this morning.

What do you make of this?

What I take of it is, I'd lay low for a little bit, if you piss them off they won't go out of their way to hold up the deal. Sounds like they're going to go through with it, though.

does this guy work 24 hours a day? why can't you pick it up after he gets home from work? sounds a little iffy to me...

Sounds like he is going to keep putting it off until the day comes that it somehow broke or some other lame ass excuse comes to his mind.

I've dealt with sellers like this before. They never expected their gold mine to go for so cheap. And they will never let it go for that.

My advice is to just be nice and don't threaten. Just wait it out and keep in touch (every other day or so). He could just be busy and might sell you the item at the winning price.

But after 2 weeks, I would consider it a lost cause. Send a nice email and leave appropriate feedback.

Seller is prob a woman and she found out her husband is cheating with his secretary. Shes been selling his shit on ebay one thing at a time for the past month and now that most of his valuable little things are gone shes on to the bigger things....Hey, it could happen.

If you get there and she walks out without him......run...... or stay and fight. Who knows, whoop his ass and get a Golden tee.

Last summer, I answered a craigslist ad for a small boat. I called the dude, set up a time to go pick it up. I showed up, and the dude was acting a little antsy. I check out the boat, decide to buy it, and we start to hitch it to my pickup. So here's where it gets good. A black Nissan SUV comes in behind us, slams the brakes, and a woman jumps out screaming. The seller says to me, in a hush tone "uh oh". Well, turns out, it's the dude's wife, and they are going through a divorce. The wife is screaming that he can't sell anything, it's all marital property, blah blah blah. Then the kids jump out of the SUV, screaming and bawling. A little boy, probably 5 years old runs up to me and says "YOU CAN'T TAKE MY MOMMY'S BOAT!!!! YOU JUST CAN'T!!!!!!!!'" I told the dude..."this isn't a good idea...I'm going to take off." The guy tries to tell me to just hitch it up, pay him, and he'll take care of the wife. The wife runs in the house, saying "I'm calling the police!!! You CAN'T SELL THAT BOAT!!!". The husband tells me to stick around, and he runs in the house. Once the husband is inside, I un-hitch the boat, and got the hell out of there.

It was....an interesting event.

From the auction - "I am selling this because I do not have the space for it anymore, I just had a baby." Maybe it's a really big baby?

As far as it happening or not, I would wait a day or two before speculating .. not enough information to go on yet.

Bought a space intruder game. It went for 107 on ebay. While the guy wasn't happy it sold for cheap. It did happen. I hope your deal goes well.
