We have had to make up random listings for specific customers. Looks like from his comment that's what happened. Possibly so that nobody else accidentally purchases what he promised to them. However, quantity "3" is a head scratcher.

Probably to make sure that if someone else "accidentally" buys the item, the person it is intended for can still find and buy it.
That's just a guess, though.

I've actually bought something in a similar way once. It's pretty good customer service if you think about it. Personally I was hoping to open that up and see a Dragon's Lair coinbox lid but alas, just a sliding door.

I have listed stuff on ebay before that a forum member wanted (different forum). It was a long time ago now, but I basically created a listing for roughly the price and gave it a jibberish title so no one else would click BuyItNow.
