I switched to a shelf-mount frame from a universal. This was attached to the universale frame; where should I mount it? Extend the wiring and screw it to the shelf side? Screw it to the wood base and run a ground wire? Just screw it down? Jump up jump up and get down?

just screw it down. It doenst get warm enough to worry about attaching it to metal.

I've seen this both ways where it's jumpered and mounted to that plate and where it's against the big black heatsink and installed in the holes on the deflection board. anyone know why this is?

IMO you could probably just eliminate the wires and "hardwire" the transistor in. I've noticed that it has something to do with horizontal width, but that's just one of those things that to me "it works, so don't mess with it" :)

maybe a KenLayton or someone with K7400/K7500 knowledge could explain this?

It was pulled off of the board and mounted to a heatsink for heat reasons. You'll hardly notice it worming up on that heatsink but if you take it off it will get hot and will probably cause problems.

ah, interesting. well I have a K7500 I run in my Sportstation that's of the older stationary design, I have a junk chassis with the offset heatsink, should I swap it over?
