Yo, don't frequent this side of the forums, but I might now because the high demand for pinball repairs needed. Four emails from different clients poured in today about pinball machines in need of maintenance and repair after I posted my business ad 2 days ago....

Got a client who's sent me a message to come look at his old Earthshaker, says the shaker motor is not responding, even after he replaced it. So right now I'm just preparing a list of things that could be causing this fault.......lol wow that pun literally rolled off unintentionally. I don't know any other symptoms at this moment because I won't get time to look at it till Sunday.

This is where I would start...
- Check the shaker motor's brushes
- Check the voltage output from the High Voltage Output Driver Board
> Test the transistor
> Check for broken/scratched traces on the PCB
- Check the input (signal) from the CPU board to make sure it's turning it on

Those are just what I could piece together from the manual and my own logical thinking skills. I don't have that much experience with pins as I do vids, so I'm just going to ask ya'lls opinions on this matter.

The first thing I would do is make sure it is turned on in the menus!

Easy Fix

I got lucky. Blown fuse on the Aux. Power Driver Board at F3, manual calls for 1 to 8 amp slow blow so I replaced the 3amp with a 2amp because thats all I had handy and it works now. Didn't charge him for this fluke, but I told him when it comes time for maintenance, and it surely needs it, call me and we'll talk price then.

Someone must of done some work in there before because there were some burnt connectors on the cables for the interconnect board at J6 and J7. The board and its connectors weren't burnt but the cables were.

F3 is a 1/8A 250V SB fuse. Radio Shack sells them for like 2.99 for 4 of them. I would use the right one when you can.

I have ES. One of my favorite pins.
