Anybody got any? I've scoured youtube every so often hoping to find some - just to try and relive my youth a little. I like it when I'm watching a movie or tv show from the era and they're in an arcade. I watched Wargames again the other day and there was a pretty cool scene in there.

Rocky III has an arcade scene. There may be a clip of it on youtube. There's so many of them on youtube. Just do a search and you'll find plenty.

Thanks man! Yeah the movie scenes are cool but what I'd really like to find is like home movie stuff that somebody just happened to shoot back in the day. But nobody was carrying around their little HD flipcams back then - haha.

I think you'll find more stills than 8mm film or videotape unfortunately. You can always treat the stills to make them come alive depending on your needs.

Its funny how Computer Space with more complicated game play flopped out. But when they dumbed down the game play and made Pong it was a Huge hit.

Our local Showbiz, which is (of course) now a Chuck-E-Cheese had the MOST IMPRESSIVE arcade that I EVER saw back in the day. They had 60 video game cabinets, which would appear to be a LOT more than the CEC video posted above. Even in 1989 or so, they STILL had both a Mach 3 AND Star Wars cockpits in EXCELLENT shape. Maybe the pizza grease is a natural preservative? I would do just about anything to go back to the summer of 1983 and visit my favorite arcades again...

I remember people bringing cameras to Aladdin's Castle for the fighting tournaments back in 98-99 time frame. I wonder whatever happened to those? I wish people had pics or film of more game tournaments from the old days.
Either it be from MK-SF early days or further back. Read a story about how some guy was at a SFCE championship game around when it first game out. He had pics of a bunch of people around the machines playing it, crowd cheering. ETC. something I haven't seen in over 10 years.

best bet would be to contact news stations and be able to access their archives since many if not all had stories on arcades at some point in the 80's I guarantee there is a good amount of footage out there that has not been seen for some time. I know a number of the photos that we see on the web of classic arcades and games came from a the archives of a newspaper. Probably still unseen pics from sources like that and preservation societies.

I know there is other footage that has not been linked yet. I know earlier this year someone posted some real good video that included a bay area arcade from BITD. Pretty sure it actually has the one and only teeter torture proto in the footage of that arcade.

Here is the link to the arcade scene from Rocky III...the reason I post this one is the backglass that you see with Rocky's likeness on it is a proto-type made just for this movie scene...I actually have one of the only two know to still remain..they only made a few to shoot this scene and one was shattered as you'll see...one of my best finds ever...someday I'd like to have Sylvester Stallone sign it and maybe Burt Young...:D
