Seems that EA has also found a way to piss me off this week. Not that that is hard...they've already ruined countless franchises after buying up some of my favorite studios.

Anyway, did anyone here buy anything on Origin?

WOW - I love how they will mine all that information off of each user, but feel safe, because you're protected by our bulletproof Privacy Policy. Oh, and by the way. We just lied to your face because we are going to take all of your personal information, and use it to market to you, and whatever the fuck we see fit to do with it. Oh, and by the way, we'll be selling that information to a 3rd party, but we PROMISE we won't tell them who you are. LOL what a fucking joke.

I haven't bought an EA game since Battlefield 2 for the PC, whenever that came out - It's a good thing EA hasn't come out with anything that I couldn't live with in the last 8 years. I'm pretty sure I won't buy another game, what they have Sports, Medal of Honor, and Need For Speed right? Fuck em' - Don't need Madden, I'll play Blitz.

Everytime I reboot, the stupid Origin installer keeps coming up. I always cancel it because I'm not interesting getting updates or be in the community or whatever other BS it offers. I just want to play my game and that's it.

Pc gaming is in the toilet, all we seem to be getting is ps3/xbox versions..

Last great game was World of Warcraft, and after 5 years I finally managed to shake that monkey..

I might buy Diablo III when it comes out..

Unfortunately, Battlefield 3 is probably such a game. It looks great. But it has been said that BF3 will require Origin to run even if you buy a retail box copy, so EA can ram their electronic game selling service onto your PC to compete with Steam.

If you don't like the way PC gaming is going, you won't like Diablo 3. Latest news is that it will require an always-on internet connection, and has no LAN play or even offline mode. This is because it does not store your save game locally, to stop you using game editors. The reason? They are introducing a real money online item marketplace for users to sell in-game items... So they want to create a digital economy out of the game items. Blizzard say they won't be selling items themselves, but you can guarantee they'll take a cut of each transaction... What else would you expect from Blizzard, who are now compromising their games, designing them around business models like WoW that can generate huge cashflow?

Worst of all recently was the DRM debacle for the Ubisoft game From Dust that was recently released. Not only was it a poorly optimised port with no graphics options and 30fps frame rate lock, It was posted on a forum that it would only require a once only activation, but when the final game was available it turned out to need the nasty always on internet connection like Assassins Creed 2. At least they had the cojones to admit they were wrong, and they've promised a patch to remove the DRM in a couple of weeks. I'll believe it when I see it... Of course, the game was available cracked on the internet the same day...

Getting sick of this DRM sh!t punishing the people who actually buy the games.

I couldn't agree more. Valve was giving away refunds for From Dust, too, because of this. I keep meaning to pick it up for 360.
