Why is it time and time again when I list things someone from France bids and purchases it? I clearly stated US only, clicked all the boxes in the e-bay listing, but time and time again this happens.

Why can't e-bay stop people from bidding if certain countries aren't clicked?

Bay.

Just as bad are the purchasing companies that buy off the US site for people in the orient... I never get paid when they win an auction... and they have a ton of accounts. Thankfully, a lot of them start with "flight2", so if you ever have a bidder named "flight2nyc" or something like that, cancel the bid immediately.

There should be a way to only allow US buyers. There have been many auctions I've bid on that would tell me I can't. The only way around it is if they have a verified US address registered on their Ebay account.

I usually email the seller first to make sure it's okay with them to ship to Canada. When they say yes, there are still times where it won't let me bid until I change my primary ebay address to my friends US one. This is not to be confused with their paypal addresses.

I'm sure it could get very annoying though when you're the seller.

Yeah....eBay works backwards.

A while back, one of my CANADIAN buds wanted to bid on a US only eBay listing...So I asked the US seller on his behalf if he can let my buddy bid on his board...the US was way cool and said yes and removed CANADIAN bidders from the banned list for that one eBay listing...But..eBay still canceled all his bids...So, he lost the board...And my bud and the US seller were like one STATE (or TERRITORY) apart...Go figure...

Why don't you use the function that blocks canadian and international bidders. You can set set it up once and never have to worry again. Ebay has offered this option for years.
