Dynamo HS9 Control Panel Layout for Street Fighter 2

Hey guys,
new to the board so I figured I'd post my question here. Take a look at my awful Control Panel that came in my Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition Cab.

Its pretty messy for pre-drilled holes. I am wondering what is my best solution to get my control layout to the traditional Street Fighter style layout. I have the templates for drilling new holes ect. But what do I do about the holes already made for the Joystick and the odd button config?

Should I just put some sheet metal on top in the shape of the CP and then drill new holes. Maybe Bondo the bottom part to fill in the holes and then sand?

or

Should I just go to a metal shop and ask them to cut out the present CP, cut me a new CP with the holes and Weld it on to the CP Frame?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I would either get a new one made at a local shop or just put a WTB ad up for one. It should be wicked easy to find a new CP for that with the 6 button layout. I was just at an OP's that had two dozen of them.

That's kind of toast. I am sure you could plug some of it, but I don't think you have much room left to drill.

Hey Nerdygrrrl,

what is an OP again? sorry I am new to some of the terminology. I put a WTB add already but not too much luck right now.

Thanks

In all honesty all you need to do is put the hole template over the existing panel and drill the holes the way you want them. You can then apply your CPO and then cut drill out a sheet of plexi with your desired configuration. The plexi will keep your buttons in place.

Drill panel, Drill plexi, apply CPO on control panel, place plexi above CPO on control panel, use exacto knife to cut button holes out of CPO using the holes in the plexi as a guide, install buttons and joysticks and you're done.

Actually, I hunted for one of these for several months. I finally found one for free from a local fellow collector.
