Dynamo HS1 Resto. Name of piece between monitor and bezel?

I am restoring a 19inch Dynamo HS-1 and it does not have the black piece that goes between the bezel and the monitor and molds to the monitor. I don't know the name of that piece or where to find them. Thanks for any help!

My 19" Dynamos have three pieces between the bezel plexi and the monitor. First there's a piece of cardboard artwork. Then a 1/2" MDF frame with an opening for the monitor's tube. Next is a cardboard insert that frames the tube.

So it goes in this order:

  1. Tube
  2. Cardboard shroud
  3. MDF frame
  4. Cardboard artwork
  5. Plexi bezel
Anyone else have anything different?

This one was missing the MDF frame. It had a wrecked bezel and the cardboard surround that was pretty much rotted away between the monitor tube and the plexi.

I am not even sure the MDF would fit with this one. Not much space at all to work with. hmmm.....

Here is a pic of it before I took it apart. The black cardboard just fell apart. That is that part I am looking for, and did not know what to call it because it is molded around the monitor.

That paper bezel could probably be re-created. If you can piece the other one back together enough to trace it, you could just use an exacto knife to cut another one. It's more or less a rectangle with a curved square opening. The rectangle extends 2 inches past each side, folded at 90 degrees.

If you need pics, let me know, I'll shoot some of a Dynamo cab I have torn apart at the moment. I had to tear one apart to pull the 4900 monitor that was in it to bench test a chassis I fixed for Vader1979. So I have all the parts out and readily in view.

I would love pics of the black bezel so I cna see the curved opening if you don't mind. Thanks!

I had one like that on the Dig Dug cab I restored. It was made of cardboard, but it was pieced together with a molded shape to fit the screen. It was trashed, so I threw it out.
