Does anyone know if they made Dynamo-compatible 4-player control panels? I am converting my Dynamo NFL Blitz from 2-players to 4-Players and I was curious if anyone has seen one of these. I don't mind doing the woodworking to create one from scratch, just need to know if one exists that I can use for a template/dimensions. The Midway panels don't have a lip at the top that fits into the Dynamo HS5 cabinet flush with the monitor plexi, but worst case I can just add a spacer. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate - this is for home use only.

It looks like the underside of this 2-player conversion was originally a 4-player panel, so I can estimate total length and just build a new lower box that fits. If I do that I'll measure and share final dimensions.

Also looks like these aren't the correct joysticks so I ordered 4x of the 49-ways.

That's not an original Dynamo 4 player panel. :cautious:

Should look like this:

There are one or two people here that have posted pictures of their Dynamo HS-5 4-Player panels in passing. There are actually two different Dynamo HS-5 4-Player panels. The first gen model was made entirely out of wood and a second-gen panel where the bottom is made of metal.

I just acquired a Dynamo HS-8 HS-9 4-player panel in a trade. I do believe most of the construction for the two is identical with the exception of the piano hinge that bolts to the shelf and the rear cutout that mates up with the front of the panel. I do believe the plywood tops are also identical as the HS-8 and HS-9 top halves of the cabinet share the same width and monitor angle as the HS-5.

The only two titles that came as 'dedicated factory conversions' (Games assembled and distributed by Dynamo) with 4 player panels were Neck N' Neck bundled with in an HS-5 and Numan Athletics bundled in an HS-9. Neck N' Neck is actually a 6 player game but it uses a 4 player panel as each player only uses one button.

I have published a photo gallery with ever picture i have collected over the years of Dynamo HS-5 and HS-8,HS-9 4-Player panels

Awesome thanks for the info! I kind of figured that it wasn't a real control panel and it was just half way converted with whatever parts they had lying around.

By the way my HS-5 is labeled HS-5 dowel w/ SF CP. I know the dowel model was just an empty cabinet for whatever use the operator wanted. If SF CP means street fighter control panel then that means it was obviously replaced.

Can you post a photo of the ID tag on your Dynamo please?

Here you go. Thanks for those photos earlier - there's one that has measurements that I can use.

Awesome thanks.

Does your Dynamo cabinet have a shelf directly below the monitor or does it only have the pull out drawer?

No shelf just the pull-out drawer

Thanks. You just confirmed some unrelated suspicions of mine.

Anyway as i mentioned above, i do have the HS8/HS9 panel and i do believe there are just some minor differences between the two panels. I do plan on posting up some basic measurements of the panels soon (after Christmas).

I had this A51 Site 4 that had a Dynamo 4 player panel. I assumed it was home made when I bought it but after opening it it was clearly factory but converted at some point. Interestingy it looked like the OEM 3 player version you have in your thread with the metal bottom pan and hinge, more like the cut corner panels and not the wood midway 4 player style box. Too bad it's long gone and I didn't document it more than a few pics.

Cool...didn't know these existed. It would be awesome if someone could make generate a set of plans for constructing one of these.

I plan on documenting the second gen metal hs-9 model shortly. As I mentioned above I'm pretty sure it's easily adaptable to the hs-5. I'd love to get my hands on a wooden first gen panel and measure that one out.

added some dimensions to a seperate thread to keep the clutter down and allow for the dimensions to be easily found in the search function.

This guy bought 3 games from me and had them for probably 4 years. I saw he was selling them off a while back. It's always funny when I see games I restored back on the market.

It's a great game - I hope you enjoy it!

Oh man! That is a crazy. What a small world. How bad of shape was it when you got it? Do you have any photos of it before the restoration? I would be happy to answer any questions about the dimensions if you guys are curious.
