I just got this behemoth, I believe it is a Dynamo HS-4 based on the fact it has a 25" monitor.

It has been modified to be a gun game, obviously, but the CP has the left over holes on the underside for a 2L12B game. Looking at the manual, it implies the original CP was just a pair of lexan sheets. I plan to convert it to a 2L8B layout. Should I just use 1/8" acrylic or did they use a different thickness originally?

Also, it has Namco stickers on the back, but no mention of what game it used to house. I know these were kit cabs, but were there any Namco games that shipped in these specifically?

Namco operated game routes, it could be like a property tag. it's been so long since I worked for them (and honestly phased out of memory) that I don't remember what they look like besides I think they were orange.

I always knew that cabinet as the Dynamo Big Boy. my grandpa got The Combatribes in one of those back in 1990. in 1993 it became Time Killers which was competing with Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam and had a decent following of its own. what an era.

The Dynamo Big boy was sold with a lexan/plexiglass sheet over the top of the control panel but from what I gather these were shipped with no holes. Underneath the lexan sheet was a metal control panel with dynamos typical universal hole patterns. You would essentially pick out which holes you wanted and drill out the lexan half.

Dynamo also sold a four-player control panel for the big boy. It was quite literally a large wooden control panel and a replacement shelf.
