Dynamite Duke?

My favorite to bring up on this subject is 1992 Mortal Kombat! I swear they got alot of inspiration from the 1986 movie Big Trouble in Little China

here are some images to prove my theory:

Tsang Tsung resemblance from Big Trouble Little China

And of course the guys that Raiden imo was ripped from Raiden type guy from BTLC

Just watch the movie and you will see several similar things..

Any Dynamite Duke fans? Someone tell me that isn't a rip-off of the Duke Nukem character...

I think Dynamite Duke is a great mix of Cabal and Punch-Out. It's a board I keep meaning to pick up (I've only played it on MAME). There's a Genesis port as well but that's certainly not the same.

And I don't necessarily think he's a rip-off of Duke Nukem; he just seems like a generic macho video game character. The gameplay is at least fresh so even if the character is slightly inspired by Duke Nukem, I'm cool with it.

Haha, you think that's bad, compare the box art for the NES version of Contra to the box art of Predator the movie. And if that's not enough, compare the NES version of Metal Gear's box art to the box art from the first Terminator....argh, nevermind, I realized it was actually copied from a screenshot in the movie. Solid Snake on the box art is a complete rip off of Kyle Reese; his pose, hair, clothes, you name it.

Send me an offer and you can have mine...

:)

I played the crap out of it on Sega Genesis...not sure if I would want an arcade of it, though.

Eh just add it to a multi-jamma; it's great massive destruction instant gratification. In fact, I may play it right now. For an arcade game, it can be really challenging with the bosses.
