Dungeon Seige 3

I would pick it up to play with my freinds in coop if it has LAN play. We did this with the previous Dungeon Siege games on LAN with up to 8 players. You could get 8 players into DS2 with the "old_school=true" setting.

Does DS3 have LAN play or coop? If there's no LAN play, it's a bit of a deal breaker for me.

well..

not to happy :(

Very linear, short story, about 10 hours I hear, 4 characters to choose from, can only play through once and then you have to start from scratch.

No online co-op.. well there is.. but its random. when you play your single player you get a companion, they level with you at the same time, and you get items and such for them and set up there spells and inventory but then when someone joins your game (up to 4 players) then they pick that guy up or one of the other 2 not in use. but they can not use there own character.. So its stupid. You can join your friends game but your only playing his game, has nothing to do with your characters or campaign. I guess it works if you both play through the game at the same time on one persons campaign but its not like sacred 2 was and that was a lot better..

The map is so straight forward, if you see a little path out of the way it leads to a chest, no open world at all..

imo I think I will just play the 2nd one which reminds me I need to dig out my discs and finish that game as I never finished it

I am thinking about getting it for the 360, but after hearing this, I think I will wait a month or 2 until it is down to $20. I actually like the shorter games, so that will work out well.

so basically its a great single player experience but at the same rate I say pick up torchlight on the marketplace if u want something diablo like to hold u over. Or wait till this drops in price.

Im happy with it cause its something I can pick up and play. I haven't had more than 3 side quests at a time unlike other games you stray so far away you forget your original intention.

I just wish the multiplayer was bettrr

What a disappointment. Many hours of fun had here with DS1 and DS2.

Roll on Torchlight 2, hope they get the multiplayer right. That's the best thing about those action RPGs, going monster bashing and loot collecting/swapping with your buddies.

The game is made by Square Enix....that says it all. They have no clue how to make good RPGs that don't fit the Japanese mold.

That said, some of the complaints I've seen voiced here and elsewhere, give me the impression that the complainants haven't played the first two games.

Please show me where the worlds were truly open? There were side-tracking areas for cool items, but you just made your way back to the linear path and continued on after.

I can't say I recall multiplayer, I never touched multi in the 2nd game and the first game came out so long ago. But why would you want someone to join your game with a character at a way higher level? That takes all the fun out of it when your buddy can smash everything to bits because his character is levelled from his game to well beyond where you are.

The Multiplayer was the best part of DS1 and 2. I never played either online, but me and my brother would play LAN games all the time.
