tell us what your existing monitor is doing. there's some very knowledgeable gentlemen on this site that could help you and save you even more money. you might even learn a thing or two in the process if you're into the technical end of things.
new monitors are more expensive, the Makvisions also are not true 25" monitors (for whatever friggin reason) they're 24.8", unless you get one of the digital tri-modes that Wells-Gardner puts out... then you're talking even more money. then all the monitor companies make LCDs now too, which look gross. they're an abomination, but I guess they gotta cater to the yuppy bar crowds that like Golden Tee and Silver Strike and like pretty HD shit.
there's a lot of stuff out there used. just gotta know where to look.
it's generally a very good thing to fix what can be fixed, for the sake of preserving the equipment used to fuel this hobby/business/time-and-money-wasting-experience for the reasons I outlined above.
