So my Asteroids marquee light started flickering.

What could it be I thought? Hmm, lets replace the starter. Nope, still flickering. Hmm, lets replace the ballast. Nope, still flickering.

Could it be that the 30 year old lamp just plain burned out? Ta da! Fixed! Lol

And, because I am a a fan of original games when possible, I just spent the last 30min reinstalling the original ballast and starter. Sweet!

For future info - if it's flickering, then the ballast is good. if it were bad, the bulb would flash once and be burned out.

Next times your steps should be starter then bulb...

Add fuse to that list... I went through that with my Galaga... new ends, bulb, ballast, starter... ... then I cleaned the fuse holder. Tada.

Light fixture return wires not connected to Tabs on power supply chassis near fuse block first thing to check if nothing comes up. And, yes I learned that the hard way with my tron.
