How do I test this? Do I need to remove it or can I test it on board? What setting on my meter and what readings am I looking for. Sorry if this is already been covered but I did search around. Also these:

The picture you posted is for the Voltage Regulator. The HOT only has 3 pins.

You set your multi-meter to diode test and then touch the ground lead to the middle pin while touching the red/negative lead to the pin on either side. If either side reads shorted then the HOT is bad.

Yeah, I didnt have the HOT Pic, Im at work. I would like to know how to test both. I should have been more clear.

Thanks

Test them using a multimeter on diode test.

The HOT is tested with the black lead on the center leg, and the red lead on each of the other legs. You should get a reading of .400-.700 if it's good. Shorts mean it needs to be replaced.

The Voltage regulator is tested by putting the black lead on each leg, then moving the red lead to the other 3 (or 4) legs in turn. If you measure a short between any two legs, pull it and test again. If still shorted, replace it. (I recently had one measure as shorted in but not out. Problem turned out to be a bridged trace farther in the board).

Both the HOT and the VR need a mica insulator between them and the wall the mount to...
