Ok, Lately I'm really getting into tube swapping to make my monitors look brand new.
I have repaired my fair share of monitors, GO7's, 4900, 4600, Sanyo's etc...
My question is, when considering a donor tube, I'm aware of the high/low impedence on the yoke and the different neck pin configurations but is it safe to assume that if the pin "layout"
is the same it will work? To clarify "layout" I mean that the tube will fit into the same socket of the tube it's replacing. The reason I say it's a "dumb" question is because I ohmed both tubes out and they didn't match so I kinda know the answer. I guess I am just being hopeful that I'm overlooking something.
