Hi there! I recently was given a Megatouch that has a vertical hold problem. The Ducksan type 19 monitor will hold vertically for a few seconds and then drift up or down. Ive tried adjusting the vertical hold but it will not stop drifting. I read the faq at Merrit and found this exact problem listed, but replacing the two IC's did not help the problem. This system is very old and has not had a cap change other than the one I replaced to fix the power on issue. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?

Thanks!

Wade

Replace every electrolytic cap in that thing. They overheat in those small counter top games, dry out, not to mention the age(you said it was old).

Absolutely recap that monitor! That chassis literally bakes in that cabinet and dries out all the electrolytics.

Very cool! I'll start replacing them. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any specific problem before I started replacing the caps. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks again!

Success!!

I replaced all the caps with the exception of the few I didn't have, and that did the trick! Very very cool! It's a Megatouch 6 so it's not the greatest set of games out there, but it'll be great for my dad's bar for fathers day. He's into stuff like this.

Thanks Again!

Thanks! Yeah, I actually would really love to have a table top pacman or galaga 3. And I love pinball games. Terminator 2 has been one of my favorites since I was a kid. But an old Pinbot would be cool too. The only issue is having a place to put them.
