My daughter will be 2 in January. She LOVES to read books for hours on end and that's awesome, but she's beginning to enjoy watching the occasional Elmo video or playing a couple of interactive games on my wife's iPad.
I did a little research and it seems the Dora series or Sesame Street series are pretty popular, but I've never shopped for these types of games and it's hard to gauge since most reviews are by moms or parents who don't play video games. It's funny reading some of them actually.
Here's a review of an Elmo game on Amazon:
This is a good, but simple game. It is quite suitable for my 4 year old granddaughter. HOWEVER, when I tried to go to the parent's area, I could not. The instructions read: Press "the L Button and the R Button at the same time." On the Nintendo DS, there are no such buttons. Soooo, I'm unable to get to the Parent's Area to review her progress. A feature that is important to me. The game does seem to adapt to the skill of the child, So, do NOT help them too much.
Wow. Just...wow.
Anywho, my DSi XL and Wii don't get much play nowadays and I was wondering if any of you dads out there have any experience with picking games for toddlers? Suggestions?
