drilling thru a gear help

I believe it was pressed on, there is a larger gear on the same metal shaft but is solid but the smaller one is turning free and from wear or? it now just spins instead of turning the rest of the gears.

Ah, interesting. What game?

If the spinning gear hasn't chewed up the shaft, and the clearance is fairly tight, superglue should hold it on. This is a trick I see a lot of the milling and lathe guys use on youtube, to stick parts on things when they work them in a lathe. The glue can be broken with heat later if needed.

If the shaft or inner part of the gear is chewed up more, epoxy might be better. However you want to make sure you give it a week to fully cure, as epoxy will set quickly, but it will often stay tacky for a few days, before fully hardening.

Its off of Midway Bulls Eye arcade. Do you mean like a JB weld? or is there something better? I cant really tell the condition of the shaft? I can slide with with a tap along it? I wouldnt think it could take the torque of start up etc.? I know PBR will rebuild most likely but didnt really want to spend the $$.

Yeah, JB Weld is epoxy. It depends on what it's being used for. If it's actuating something, it might be strong enough. (I was thinking it was something small.)

But if it's a motor or something pulling a lot of torque, you might be better off just welding it. JB Weld can be pretty strong though, you just need to give it a week to cure.
