I just spent a little while playing this, and I am REALLY impressed at how accurate the emulation is. If you are familiar with the original games, then you DEFINITELY won't be dissapointed. The video used is the "restored" upgraded HD re-master, but because it is on the Wii, it (obviously) can only be displayed at a maximum resolution of 480p. Even with that limitation, it STILL looks better than an original laserdisc. I am REALLY picky about accuracy and authenticity, and am pleased to report that this plays well enough to satisfy your DL cravings if you don't have an original game...

But there's already a Blu-Ray version of the original Dragon's Lair..it's not hard to have video better than the laserdisc.

Yes, BUT the Bluy Ray versions are A) Programmed to work on Blu Ray players and are not designed for a specific hardware platform and B) Were released as separate games on three separate discs and C) the Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp release is not carried by any retailers due to a known bug that makes it "unplayable" on certain Blu Ray standalone players. All of these factors make the Wii version more useable and a better soltion, as you don't have to buy three different games and swap out the discs to go between the games. I already owned the Blu Ray versions of Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, which I play on a PS3, and STILL feel that this is a better route to go.

I specifically stated that this port was based on the HD re-masters that were created for the Blu Ray releases, but even at 480p, it STILL looks noticeably better than the original laserdisc...

I posted this in the console thread, but wanted to add that you can get it for $18 from Sam's Club, ordered online and pickup at the store (free shipping). I don't think you even have to be a member. No I don't work there, but this was the cheapest price I found.
