Dragon's Lair or Space Ace Reproduction Power Supply

So some people have asked if I will part out some of the Dragon's Lair arcade pieces..

I have a brand new, working and tested, reproduction power supply. Someone from the d-l-p site made these a few years back. They replace the original, and troublesome, original power supply that is in the DL or SA cabinets.

Price: $150 (plus any shipping or handling)

PM me if interested

Can't DL and SA just use a standard switcher? Why was a repro of the PS needed?

Not trying to kill a sale; I'm just genuinely curious. I have a DL project cab and will need to address the power section when the time comes to put it all together.

Not only that, but you can actually run the entire cab off of just 5V, from any suitable source, with a small mod. I have mine running off of a 5V 3A wall wart, which you can get on eBay for 5 bucks now.

I actually wrote an article on this for the DLP, 16(!) years ago, here:

I have 2 of these power supply's. They were sold by Mark Spath sometime between 2000-2002 I think. I don't remember how much they cost. Roy Bailey who also made repo DL wiring harnesses also made a switcher power supply replacement with harness adapter for $55.00 which was also back in 2002. The reason they were made was back then original DL power supply's were going for stupid money on Ebay. If I remember right the DL power supply also had to have +25 volts @ 3amps for the audio amp and I think the 6.3 volts AC for the coin lights use +5 volts with this switcher.

Any way you could post photos on a separate thread as to how you use 5vdc for running the entire cab? I'm intrigued
