I am going to check on a game for a friend.. a Dragons Lair.. He just moved it to his office. When he moved it he removed the laserdisc player and took that seperately. The laserdisc is a newer one bought online and worked fine. Now, when he plays the game it will boot, start fine.. but after a few moves the games starts skipping through scenes.
I don't have much experience with laserdisc games but it would sound to me like a bad disc or player, if only he hadn't moved it seperately, and carefully. Anyone know anything else that may cause this? Are there any tests, or a test mode to diagnose if its the disc, player, or something else?

Sounds like the disc is scratched, eject the disc and look at it for scratches.

Also check to see if the machine(cab) is on level ground

Well checked it out.. It starts and goes through attract mode seemingly normally. There are some odd characters in the display. If you put in a coin and press start, it goes to a black screen for a couple seconds. It then 'always' goes the the flying anvil level. it then cycles, without death no matter what you do, to the spinning poles with the bridge in the center... if you wait, or go forward, no death.. it goes into a test mode, and stops on ROM D2 test. after a few seconds you hear the 'dragons lair' voice and then it starts to cycle through a few different levels then seems to get back on track to the attract sequence without any sound or voices.

The laser slightly out of alignment now?

I only say this as the Sony PS2's would have read issues on maybe a blue backed DVD and work on a silver. Or it would play an audio CD and a blue back DVD and not a silver back DVD. Adjusting the laser would fix'em every time.
Easy thing is to simply use a can of air and blow it out - see if it works other wise you can attempt cleaning the lense itself with a cotton swap and water - I always used rubbing alcohol but would hate to be responsible for a ruined lense ;)
