I picked up a Dragons lair this week, froma friend that had it sitting in a box for almost 20 years.

When i first turned it on, it only had 120 games played through it. Not a single scratch.

Only one small defect, one of the bulbs to the sword button was broken or burnt out.

Heres a small video of it =)

Best part is, I picked it up for Free. His wife was getting tired of it sitting in the garage. Now to find a Tron and Star wars.

No pics taking it out of the box? For free? Game came out in 1991 but he had it for *lmost 20yrs and its HUO and was boxed but had 120 clicks on the counter? Smells Fishy! Just my opinion. Congrats on your pickup but sorry I don't buy your story, I've been collecting lasers for over 10yrs and have 35plus in the collection including 2 DL2s and a lot of really rare titles. Sorry but if I got a NIB HUO DL2 for free I sure would have taken a lot of pics and posted them, rather than posting a youtube video and telling a very far fetched sounding story with 5 posts.

Cool score! Unrelated question .. what is that light up CP attached to the LCD monitor? Did you built that? Looks really nice.

When i drove up to pick it up in Gilroy, CA. The box was rather tour up, it had been moved from his apartment to 2 different homes. It was orginally a a gift to him for graduation, but he was involved in a car accident, and was paralyzed from the waist down, never got around to playing it. thus it sat.

When i got there it was raining, so I unboxed what was left of the box and wrapped it in a moving blanket and then covered it in a plastic. I didnt want to risk lifting it in the box that it came in, as it was falling apart. Only got a chance to take pics with my cell phone, till I got home.

Waited for the rain to lift and drove it straight back to Vegas.

Thats a Hyperspin cab I built last year with some help from Scott at mameroom.com and with the help of Bill and Brian over at Hyperspin. I also built a Virtual Pinball machine, Named Dreampin.

Sorry if that doesnt sound Fishy, you can just check out the rest of my Video's on youtube.

Only been in the collecting seen for alittle over a year. But I am loving it so far.

How did it get 120 plays on the counter if it was NIB and he was in an accident and never got to play it? Wouldn't you have taken pics of it NIB or at least uncrating it? Enjoy it, congrats I just don't believe your story!

I only knew it was there two years ago, I didn't buy it 19 years ago, I just got it this week. All I know is what he told me, and what I saw. Do they play test these at the factory? Did someone play it before it was shipped to him? No clue. I never claimed it was New, Just it was in a box, and only had 120 plays on it. And the only flaw i saw was the button.

No scratches, no Dings, no fading, nothing. even has the serial number and keys. It looks brand new.

Anywho, I am enjoying it, its frustrating, I remember being younger, and I couldn't afford to play the game, but loved watching others play it, like a movie. Had a competetion with the kids, who ever got the highest score over the weekend got 20 bucks. I'm sure non of us have reached the 1/2 way mark yet.

Wow, that's a beautiful looking cab! Congrats. Looks like you have some nice pins as well as the mame cab. Welcome to klov, by this time next year you'll own several more dedicated cabs and be severely out of room! ;)

Congrats on your great find! This is like finding the old Shelby mustang that's been covered up for the last 30 years in a barn.. prob. a once in a lifetime find. I think I would have taken pics of it in the box, and prob. saved the box if it was indeed an original shipping box for the game.. but hey, in certain situations, you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

I never really got into DL2 that much, it just didn't do anything for me... but I would certainly love to have one in my collection. DL1 was a huge game for me when i was growing up, but I've found that all the simulators have quenched my thirst for an actual DL machine.

Congrats, and enjoy! Who cares who believes what, either way you have one of the nicest, if not THE nicest DL2 machine out there...

I think what your really trying to say is that your jealous and wish it had been you that received a free, mint DL2.
Do people frequently spit at and/or shun you?
Was the negativity really necessary?

Congratulations and nice game room pics :)
