Dragon's Lair II help

Poor quality. I guess if you're OK with "meh", have at it, but when there are other vendors you can choose from, why?

EDIT: Here is an example of their "black" ... not quite... black, huh?

You have inspired me to dig my cabinet out and look it over. I got my cabinet back in 2004 and you would not believe how filthy they can get in 13 years. Because at one point it was on the garage floor with no leg levelers the bottom got some water damage from flooding from one of the hurricanes of the past. Just enough to wick up the bottom edges. The rest of the damage was done by the person who used a power saw to cut the monitor out of the cabinet. I guess a socket and ratchet were to hard to come by.
Looking up though the top monitor wood mount which they cut I can see the speaker board is also missing,(bet they cut them out and mounted them in the back panel of their car or truck for their stereo system :-( ,Hacks. Well anyway if I cant find an original speaker panel I suppose it wont be to hard to make something that will work and sense it's behind the speaker grill you cant see it anyway.
Could you please tell me if the speaker panel is wood or metal and how it mounts. If you could please take some close up pictures of the speaker and monitor mounts.
I'll be glad to help you in any way I can with any part of your restore.

Here are some photos of the areas you mentioned. The wood piece the monitor rests on at an angle has 4 bolt holes on the bottom and a wood stop. The monitor doesn't mount at the top anywhere, just the bottom. The speaker screen is metal and it has a metal bracket piece with a channel to accept the monitor bezel at the bottom, and the screen mounts at the top (see left_top), and this mounts to a wood piece above the monitor.

Thank's for the pictures. Looking at them I think you have one of the other type cabinets. DL2 came in 3 different cabinets in the USA. Mine and the one digitaldooc has appear to be the Williams cabinet, the one that has the front door where you can slide the board out. You can tell as the Serial number begins with a W. My cabinet is W00193. The other 2 cabinets were made by Dynamo, one with the front bottom corners cut and the other were square. Here is a picture of my type of cabinet with everything installed in the cabinet. You can see even the monitor is different.

Oh sorry about that, my bad. I knew there were different cab types but I didn't notice that detail on yours for some reason.

Wow, Thanks digitaldocc, that really helps a bunch. So is the top monitor wood mounts like the bottom which are made into the cabinet and not meant to be removed and the 2 screws which you remove allows the speaker panel to move up to make room to fit the monitor in the frame or am I missing something. I need to remove my speaker grill and see how much damage they did with the saw.
Thanks for the pictures and the video. I really do appreciate it. Which monitor do you have? Does yours still have the NTSC converter?
I bought my monitor years ago, not sure if it came out of a DL2 but it has the NTSC converter connected. It's a Wells Gardner 25K7193
Looking forward to the rest of your build.

OK,well I have been looking over your pictures and video. Thanks again.
I think I have most of it figured out. I removed the metal speaker grill off my cabinet and just as I suspected no speaker panel. It took me a wile looking over your pictures and looking at my poor cabinet but I think I have it figured out so maybe you can confirm if I have it right. The speaker panel looks like it's made of 3/4" particle board. The 2 screws located on the lower left and right side which you state in your video you have to remove to raise the speaker panel up to make room to remove the monitor is screwed though a piece of 3/4" blocking which is glued and stapled to the edge of the speaker panel. Are these 2 screws the only thing holding the speaker panel to the cabinet? It looks like it has notches cut in the lower corner of the speaker panel that sits on a 3/4" block which is glued and stapled to the side of the cabinet. Looks like the speaker panel sits flush with the vertical piece of wood in the middle of the cabinet. The bottom of the speaker grill has 4 long screws that go along the bottom and screw into the speaker panel as well as the 4 long screws on the top that screw into the wood that's painted white to reflect the marquee light.
Sorry to be such a pain but if you could do one more thing wile you have it apart, could you take the speaker panel out and take a few pictures and also see if the speakers have a part number or have the wattage and whether they are 8 ohm or 4 ohm speakers. If not that's Ok, I think you have given me enough info where I should be able to figure it all out.
Luckily I have the wood cross member on the bottom that holds the monitor glass/plexi. It was broken in the middle so I'll have to make a new one but I have the 2 parts to make a new one.

Sure. Next time its upright I'll pull out the speaker panel. I'm currently at the "I hope I don't screw up point" having never applied full side art before. Also if you message me your number we can video conference or at least talk to answer some of your questions.

Thats gonna look sweet. Wish I could give you some pointers but I have not installed any full size art before. I am sure you have watched a few videos where most use the wet method but for some reason I just cant shake the notion that water/soap and adhesive go together. I know I know but I keep seeing someone trying to patch a hole in a boat with duck tape and think he's going down.
Just take your time, make sure it's lined up and go for it.
Good luck.

Looks like I have two options. Trim the outline of the graphics and have a perimeter where the painted black is revealed. Option A is how I think it was done originally.

Option B is where I can use the extra black that is on the print out and just trim along the edges of the cabinet after it's applied.

Took your advice and just went for it. All the youtube videos help but when it comes down to it the plan goes down the toilet when in the moment and sticky spray ends up everywhere.

Hope this fills in the blanks. In the middle of the video my phone went out of focus so if you give it time I am able to fix it. Again let me know if you need anything else because I'm about to put humpty dumpty back together again.
