My Boys and I finally finished restoring our Dragon's Lair. 1st we bought a new'r replacement Laser Disk players from the 1990's the Pioneer Model - LD-V8000. Once getting the New Player i bought from Shaun Woods the LaserCon disk player converter. I have to say Shaun is an awesome guy and his support during the installation was awesome!

After we got the player all dialed in we worked on the art work and vinyl on the side of the machine as well as the CPO.

Here are a few photos' we took during and after the renovation:

Thanks, and i measured and marked the side art, it came that low orginally. I always thought it should be higher as well.

Hmmm

Well..that is strange..my cab has it higher..eh, who knows..

Still like how it turned out! Congrats!

The machine looks great, and I must say your arcade looks awesome! I'm going to bookmark your site for ideas in the future as I set up my own arcade.

Thanks I borrowed many ideas from the members here as well. Good luck with your build.

Did you put a monitor on top so others could watch while someone was playing like some arcades did BITD?

Sure did, Dragon's Lair is by far the most popular game in the room so it's nice to have the TV on top so others can watch. I did try to find a CRT tv but couldn't so went with an LCD for now.

Only time I've seen it up high was on the flyer

Note: I have not seen many of these but all the ones I have were like this

And to the OP, very nice job.

Hmmm, anyone know for SURE?

Here's the USA Flyer. I'm guessing it's a artistic rendering as it sure ain't what the actual artwork look like:

Gotta ask, what vinyl did you wind up using, is it 1:1 compared to the original?

Getting ready to restore my own, I hear it's hard to match up.

I bought the Vinyl about 2 years ago from Anthony at Quarter Arcade, I stripped the Cabinet of it's orginal Vinyl 2 years ago as well. I never did a close up side by side comparison. To me it looks great and if anyone can actually remember the Vinyl from 1983 to what i have on i would be amazed. Unless of course that person wears a fingerless glove when he plays Marble Maddness, Still lives at home with his Mother and collects snakes, Or walks around saying there imight be a Kill screa,,, never mind...

I think it looks good, send Anthony at Quarter Arcade an email he is an honest guy and will give you an honest answer on how close he was able to match it. \

good luck and please post pictures of your build,

Braido...
