... not on my part.

I have my DIPs set according to the DLP's DL/SA combo ROM settings (http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tech/dips/dlsa_combo.asp). But attract mode is just doing whatever it wants to. Sometimes I get just the voices... sometimes I get just the music... once in a blue moon (usually after diagnostics mode) I get both. Sometimes it just sound every 8th time (as I have it set), sometimes it's every time it plays through attract mode.

Just seems to depend on how it's feeling when I turn the machine on.

Any ideas? I'd post at DLP, but they don't even let me respond to my own posts there! So... it's pretty much useless asking a question there.

Hey Scucci - i have a similar problem that has been driving me crazy - no matter what my dips (B0 / B1) are, i get the music.

It was suggested i change chip U19 since that drives B0 / B1 inputs, but still have the issue.

Someone on DL project boards suggested its the Dl conversion card.

Wondering - do you still have the problem? Maybe try U19 chip is you still have it.

If not, what resolved it?

Sounds like..

It definately sounds like an issue with either a chip on the main board OR a bad communication cable...does the game play fine when you play it??

Hey Laser fan,

Yeah game is perfect. No issues at all (fortunately). At first, it was minor, but now, i like to keep the games running when i am fixing something and the attract mode sounds are driving me crazy (the narrator voice).

I know the dips work - i tested them with continuity setting / they are getting 5 volts. Other settings work - for example i just switched from free play to coins (getting a change machine!), you get 5 lives, etc.

But any switches related to attract sounds - B0, B1 and B4 dont affect it at all. Still get narrator / sounds.

Any ideas / chips i should look more into? As noted, U 19 (sound chip) was replaced as it drives / reads from B0 / B1.

Hella late, just doing some checking on some old threads.

I feel like a prick for not update'ng the thing with the resolution. The chips on my ROM board were mis-labeled. They said it have one version of the ROMs on them, when I pulled them and compared them to the set they were SUPPOSED to be, they were the different. I compared them to the other versions of the ROMs and they ended up being a different version (with different DIP switch settings). I redid the DIPs for the version I actually had and that cleared everything up for me.

Sorry for the late resolution.
