Dragons Lair 2 $80 score.

You know what the big story is it made it almost 2 full days on Letgo & nobody snatched it. Another Klover on another thread mentioned it & that's how I found out.

Wow...didn't read that. 2 days on Letgo at $80? Go buy a lottery ticket now. :) That wouldn't have last 8 minutes here locally.

I gotta drive to Cali or Az to play lotto...I'm too lazy😆

I'll add a story from 2 years ago, don't get mad, it's absolutely true...I nabbed a non working Space Ace for $50!! It had a broken player & a good disc in it. I'm lucky with Laser games!!

It's a score however missing laserdisc player & of course Laserdisc. Great shape. Can't tell if any restoration work done or just great clean shape. Bezel has issues. Going to do research on what next course of action should be . Any advice is appreciated. Thx

$80 is more than a great score.. Its a miracle.

Yeah no shit,, id say.
Plus this cab is clean and mint.

I've been waiting for a score like this for a DL2, DL, or SA since I started in the hobby. I would LOVE a Laser game... Congratulations!

I've been neglecting LetGo lately because it's been sparse... Guess I have to get back on my game! Nice score!

Yeah, I've only had a couple really good scores. I sold the Space Ace. Kind of regret it. Once this is running I don't think I'll let it go.

I wish I had bought your Space Ace. I have wanted one for years and that was probably my best shot at one.

I've been neglecting Letgo also. Someone pointed it out so that's how I saw it.

Yeah those other sites are where the deals are happening nowadays but they are getting more competitive. I picked up two project games off offerup recently after a very long drought.

I shouldn't complain, I have way too many games anyway.

Awesome grab. Better get on the Dexter list or locate the missing parts

I emailed to try and get on Dexter list.

However, there is some hope!! I told seller what was missing & he found a large envelope that goes with the game. It was in storage. It's possible he found the Laserdisc!

He was paid for services with the game & it never made it into his house.

Sweet! Personally, I'd go the Daphne route and get both DL titles as well as Space Ace on there.

I still have my MACH 3 cabinet that was converted to Choplifter years ago that I plan on converting back, but I'm going to go with Daphne and not worry about the original LD player since they're near impossible to find for less than the price of a new kidney and they hardly ever stay working.

Plus, with Daphne I can also add Cobra Command, Astron Belt, and other similar games. I've even seen Daphne used on an old original Xbox, which I have, so there's that too.

I'm kinda open to all ideas. I've never seen or played Daphne games. Is it frowned upon?
It would be nice to have all the games.

Out of curiosity I wonder what has more value...daphne, Dexter or Laserdisc.

Damn, that's one hell of a score! In my experience this game is more solid than the first DL. I have, I think the Sony 1450 player, and it's always been a solid game. The only thing I hated about the game FOR YEARS was how loud the beeps are. They drown out the game. Then I was looking at the schematics one night and damn if there wasn't a circuit for that. They just didn't put the pots on the board. A few dollars for a pot or two and now there's volume for the beeps in addition to the volume for the game. That was one of my proudest game moments.

Wow great score! If you add a pot you can turn the beeps down? Those beeps are horrible so loud. I defiantly want to turn them down

I've played Daphne on my Mac and it's pretty spot on with most games. I only suggest Daphne because you can get it all going on an old PC while you look for a LD player or a Dexter system. Get that thing playing!

That is a nice machine at the nice price. Good pickup.

I got a Dragon's Lair machine without an LD player or disc and hunted down both. I put a Merlin board in it which let's you use a newer LD player and also let's you play DL, DL2 and Space Ace on one machine.

I am partial to having the LD player in there, but it is a hassle to pull the machine out to change the discs.

Also, I like the big sword buttons.

FWIW, my 2 cents would be to get a newer player, and one of the adapter/conversion cards, if needed (as I'm not sure which players can be used in the Leland cab). Daphne and Dexter are great products, don't get me wrong, but a laser game without a laser in it just isn't the same.

Maybe I'm more of a purist, but having a working player inside the cab with a gorgeous 12" disc, hearing it vibrate and whirr, feeling it shake as it seeks between scenes, etc, is all part of the experience. It's just not the same without it (and not as fun to get and see it all working).

It's also probably cheaper to find a working player, disc, and a Merlin card, than it is to buy a Dexter. Unless you're going to operate the machine, a newer player can be perfectly reliable for home use. (It's really just the original ones that came in the 1983 DL cabs that are consistently bad. The later-gen ones are much better.)
