Something happened that I never thought would. I now own a Dragon's Lair.

I was fortunate enough to pick up a project cab from @jouststar last month. It was essentially an empty cabinet, but fortunately it still had the original raised letter coin door, coin bucket, power supply, and speakers. Someone cut the top marquee area when it was converted. Probably an OP at some point, but @jouststar actually purchased the pieces separately at some point and threw them in.

I knew this was going to be a hell of a task. I knew nothing about the inner workings of a laserdisc game. I was initially going to get a Dexter, but with their unavailability I decided to put it back to how it was originally. Laserdisc player and all. I created a spreadsheet to keep up with the enormous amount of parts and pieces I would need and started the hunt.

After a TON of research and scouring the entire internet, I acquired every piece. I was also able to pick up an Authur board from Shaun Wood.

I restored the cabinet. Fixed the top marquee area. Applied vinyl. Got the coin door powder coated (my first time doing that, but I didn't have a way to recreate the texture on the door to do it justice)
Repaired the original power supply; several bad parts on that thing. Had to figure out the whole video encoder mess as well.

I need to thank several KLOVers for helping me with some parts. @aztecf @mikelee74 @p0rgy8190 @Jb1215 @Wldfire

Another HUGE thanks goes out to @swood for putting up with my relentless questions over email. This guy's knowledge is invaluable, and he's a genuinely awesome person to boot.

And as always, I kind of over document my restores with pics. Here's the full album for those interested in seeing the entire process
