Hi All,

Got around to finishing the CP part of my Dragon's Lair restore. Panel had been hacked and first up was to fill the holes, smooth, prime, and then paint. CPO was obtained by a guy on our local arcade FB group who runs a print shop business and has a nice poly layer. Fit was perfect and matched to another friends DL that he hasn't restored yet.

Thanks for looking

Very nice job. Be proud.

FYI: The black plastic disk on your joystick goes under the CP.

You can see just from the pics that the colors on that are more vibrant and way closer to original than the QA repro, which is fairly washed out by comparison.

I'd buy one of those if they were available. (And I'm sure many others would too.)

I followed that link as well and was also curious about the finish - which do I choose?

Any thoughts about whether this cpo is better than the one offered by Galloping Ghost?

Nice work - looks good!

He lists the size ask as he gets requests for mini bar tops and non standard cab CPs. You want the poly finish. He does get requests for plain gloss as well but the "feel" and wear protection is not as good. He also has the size standards for a proper DL CP so just add nots that sizing to EvanW's prefer and he will know what you are talking about.

I will ping him to chime in here as well.

Thanks,

Evan

KLOV needs a coupon code. :)

Also, shipping shows that Pickup in Gatineau QC is available but no address is provided. :(
(As I'm in Ottawa, this would save me $16 (less gas)).

Needless, if the quality and pricing is good, I'm glad to finally see a Canadian company making repro art (and custom art - even better!!).

The Galloping Ghost CPO seem to have issues. Look on the left (the vines), everything is faded. This one is a lot more cleaner and accurate.

There are many options on the website including custom finish and dimensions.
If you want the same as the original, you need the polycarbonate velvet finish and just enter "STANDARD" in the dimensions field.

We mostly ship to Canada, just contact us through the form https://retrolabs.com/index.php?route=information/contact with your address and I will get you a shipping estimate if you live in the US or at another international location.

We will be running another batch of those next week, so they would ship fairly quick.

Thanks

Here's a coupon code "KLOV" will get you 10% off on the repro artwork.

I am just located north of Aylmer, maybe 15 mins from the Champlain bridge. I have my print shop at home in a separate building, so I usually email the pickup address after the order is received.

I see that you collect vector games, I have a cocktail table (Star castle - bootleg) with a 13" vector monitor that I will be selling. Need to make space as I have around 45 games already. Let me know if its something you might be interested, I will send you more details and pictures.

Thanks for the coupon. REP'd. :)

I have too many cocktails already and only ones which are unique as they take up too much space. Thanks for the offer. Appreciated.

Thanks for the code! I think I'm going to order one of these later this week. Excited.

No problem! :)

I printed a few today and they are ready to ship.

I updated the website, it should now give you a shipping estimate when completing the checkout process. It was previously only enabled for Canadian orders.

I already received a few orders and shipping comes roughly to 26$CAD using Canada Post expedited parcel. It includes tracking and coverage, takes about a week to get there. Unfortunately, there's no cheaper options. I only charge the actual shipping fees.

I will run another larger batch next week to keep up with the demand.
Thank you

You should hook up with Arcadepartsandrepair.com, or highscoresaves.com (or any of the other parts/art sellers), and ship a bunch to one of them, so they can then sell them.

These can be shipped first class here for about $5 each. That would save ~$20 per CPO.

Update for everyone, unfortunately I have been notified by the copyright owners and will not be carrying any of the Dragon's lair artwork anymore.

I spent countless hours restoring the control panel in order to allow arcade enthusiasts to restore their machine to their former glory, however I do not want any problems. I do this as a hobby for the love of arcade gaming and its unfortunate that it came to this.

I am not sure how Galloping Ghost are still selling Dragon's lair artwork, maybe they had some sort of agreement with them.

Thanks for your understanding
