I was going back to work after lunch when I found this bad boy! Very cool old Dr. Pepper Machine. Just needs a little TLC and a new Thermostat. Looks good for it's age. And it's that cool mint green :)

Very nice.. I like the DP sign they used on that machine. You can hose the machine down with simple green or spray nine and pressure wash the whole thing. Take the coin mech out first. After its clean, give it a good compound and wax and it will look great. Thats pretty cool that it still has the can punch on it also..

Soda Machine

I was thinking about power washing the inside of the machine. The worst part of the machine is the compressor. Have you ever power washed that area before? The under side of a machine? I just re-built the coin mech. It works good now! The can punch also has some kind of power to it. It looks like a heating element? Yes it is a very cool machine. I have a 56B Pepsi Machine. This machine is like 6 inches wider. Now I have to decide if I want to sell it or Keep it :)

I power wash all soda machines when I get them... compressor, condenser area, etc... I thoroughly spray with Spray Nine and go to work. I usually let them sit a day or 2 before plugging in after washing to make sure it dries out. Most electrical connections are sealed. Use care or bag the jones plug that the coin mech plugs into.

The wires going to the can punch are for a heater used to kill any bacteria that may try to live on the end of the can punch after a can was opened. They can be safely disconnected.. you probably won't be punching any cans to get them open.

How many shelves are in that machine?

All of them :)

All of them. Total of 7 shelves, It is a Vendorlator can machine Model No VF 77D-A. Hell it even has the little drip tray. It has all its parts. The only thing missing is a Key. He could not find it, but it opens with a flat head screwdriver. :) Yep I'm going to power wash it then blow it out with air. Then let it sit for a few days. It needs a new cord so I will have to do that to i think. I need to work on a Dragon's Lair game before it gets to cold, but I want to get this soda machine working good also. The guy I bought it from said it froze up on him a few times. So it might need a new thermostat. It's been running good so far. I have a thermometer I can stick into it to see the temp. Cool looking machine.

Excellent. Thats a bit of an odd ball model. It looked wider than the much more common V63. I like it. Make sure you use a good heavy grounded cord, even if the original doesn't have a ground. Also, don't leave plugged into an extension cord. I almost had a fire in my garage, even using 12ga cord and not that long of a run. I happened to move the cord one day while cleaning the garage and noticed that the socket was incredibly hot and starting to melt.

Good luck with it. Post some pics after you get it cleaned up..

DP Machine

Took the power washer to the Dp machine today. It worked VERY good :) I will scrub the inside a little more, but the lower half of the machine looks good. I will post pics of it all when finished.

That looks great. The can stack looks the same as the 56/63. You could make a bottle machine out of it by switching the can stack out. The bottle shelves would be hard as they are longer and not very common. I use my bottle machine more than the can machine.
