Dr. Dude or Dr. Who?

I have owned both and sold both of them. I did like Dr. Dude more. I was never a Dr Who fan (TV show) so I did not understand all the things going on.

Dr. Dude is better for the average casual player. To really like Dr. Who, you need to at least have watched the show. I had a Dr. Who, used to watch the show a little, and I liked it, but most people won't get "it". Dr. Dude is just stupid fun that is universal.

that's exactly what i was thinking on both! never watched Dr. Who so i would be lost also. i kept hearing that Dude was fun and kind of an 80s style fun!!! maybe you have to be from the 80s to "get it" on Dude too.

I played Dr. Dude as a kid, so I've got a soft spot for it. It's a fun game. I've never seen an episode of Dr. Who, so I have no connection to the theme.

I'd take Dr. Dude.

love DW, but then again i've had a casual interest in the show for a long time.

i find the theme for DD annoying; don't think i've ever bothered to try it because of that.

I've never watched Dr. Who, know nothing about it, and I've played both of these pins, and I'd say Dr. Who. It's a pinball machine not a movie. Just shoot the ramps and learn the rules. It's not like you're going to get half way through a game and lose because you don't know the plot.

I have to say though, it's a pretty close call. They're both good titles.

Try to play both of them. One is a DMD game and the other one is just an alph-num display. Most Dr. Dude's are a Williams Sys11 game but a few of them (approx 100) use the newer WPC89 boardset. Dr. Dude playfields are much harder to restore than Dr. Who's unless you find a rare Dr. Dude with a 'Diamond Plate' clear coated playfield. Dr. Who cabinets tend to have more color fade than Dr. Dude's.
