The old bump stops in the yoke were completely shot. After some digging and hunting I came up with what seems to be a very close substitution. Here is the thread of my quest to make these parts.

I found these rubber rings in the plumbing section of Ace.

Once the old metal center shafts were cleaned up htese were a perfict fit.

I did find one small section of the wire harness up in the marquee where the rats or mice decided they needed some plastic in there diet. I decided it was best to cut out this section about 2 inches and splice it back together.

Last month was the Houston Area Arcade Group's Expo (HAAG) http://www.arcadecenter.com, and once again I had a booth there featuring this cabinet. During the show on Saturday I finished up the remainder of the build, applied the marquee overlay, finished assembling the yoke and wiring it up, and finished some other last minute wiring. Big thanks to the guys there that helped me track down a spare fuse to get it going.

Here is my ugly mug with the finished product.

I was asked again this year to give a small seminar on my reproduction cabinets at the show. The majority of my talk was centered around this build, so I thought I would include it here. Fortunately Tim and Jonathan from Arcade Repair Tips http://www.arcaderepairtips.com were there again this year and were kind enough to video most of the seminars and put them up on their website. (Great guys. Be sure to support them.) Here is the video they shot and put on YouTube.

Warning: I am not a stellar public speaker, so please don't destroy me. :)

The monitor went out on me half way through the show, but I still won the award for Best of Show - Custom Arcade.

Hopefully I can get the monitor rebuilt this week and have the Death Star fully opperational again soon.

Damn, that's awesome. Great job, and great write up! The detailed sideart install pics are nice - I'm sure I'll refer back to them if/when I get new art for my SW cab.

I love it man! That is so dang awesome. I would love to buy it, but my wallet probably wouldn't agree with me. That thing is too nice for me to afford it haha.

Question for you guys, what do you think this should sell for? Since it is kind of one of a kind I'm struggling with pricing it. Opinions.....

$2,800 - $3,200 retail with warranty. Market it to non-arcade Star Wars fans. Won't sell quick but will eventually when you find the right person

If you need to move it quicker than price at $1,500 - $1,800

(or sell it on KLOV for $1,300)

Why to non-Star Wars fans? Oh nevermind. Non ARCADE Star Wars fans. So you mean, everyone else. Heh.
