Monitor in my Double Dragon scrolls vertically and seems to have a yellow tint. The game also keeps restarting. My cat did manage his way in the cabinet for god knows how long while I was out. It was working perfectly. I hate animals.

this may not be monitor related , if you have another jamma board or if you can borrow one , see what its like in the cab. your cat may have broken or bent (read shorted) in the sync area of the main pcb

Chewed wires?

No chewed wires. Maybe tomorrow or Friday I will have a closer look. I just had a minor surgery this past Monday that prohibits any upper arm movement above my head, or in awkward reaches. As far as I can see with my eyes the wire's are good, I'll try making sure they are all fastened by Friday and report back.

P.S. If I do get lucky at times and it boots all the way to the title screen, I can insert coins for credits, and then pushing either P1 or P2 start causes a restart and scroll.

Well I took the back panel off of my Double Dragon today to see if I could fix my problem. (Knowing next to nothing about the hobby didn't really help in my thinking I could do so).

I checked all the wire connections and they seem firm. I solved my color issue with the pot dials on the back of the monitor. Well, I got them as close to good as they will be. Further inspection shows what appears to be Mouse Trap burn. Could this contribute to a less than stellar display?) So the yellow tinge is gone, and I'm not longer vertically scrolling.

The game, however, keeps resetting at random. The farthest I can make it before a restart is after I start whooping up on the second street thug. The soonest it happens is during the ROM/RAM tests (which are all OK). Also there is a muffled/clicky sound that is present when there shouldn't be sound at all. It sort of flickers when the game restarts repeatedly at times. When the music and sound fx are present it is there but unnoticeable. My punch out has the same muffle sound but works perfectly otherwise, so this may not be an issue. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Maybe check to see if any of the socket chips might be a little loose or maybe pull and see if the chip legs are clean and put them back in one at a time of course. It sounds like it might be a board issue but then again maybe your power supply is failing and your losing some of your voltages to the game board. That's when having a multimeter comes in handy in this hobby Its basically the first investment in the hobby most people make.
