Bought an IGT Double Diamond that was is great shape, but not working. Here is what it does.

Filled hopper with tokens, coin comparitor with a token. Power up. The wheels stiffin up. Winner pays 12 lights up. no buttons lit. Turn reset key 1/4 turn momemtarily, and you hear a relay click, followed by 0 and 1 alternating in coins played led, and bet one credit button lights after 10 seconds. Then spin wheel button lights up. Then relay clicks off and back to original winner pays 12 led, and no lit buttons. Both uper and lower half of candle lights stay blinking at all times.

During all this if I push bet one credit, the winer paid led goes to 9999. If i hit the spin wheels button, each push makes the coin played led go from 1 to 2,3,4,5,9 then 9999 and 9999 accross the two led displays.

Any ideas? I checked all fuses, firmly reseated the mother board, and check connectors? How do I reset this thing? Is there a manual somewhere with diagnosis codes?

I have another igt slot of a different theme? Can I swap mother boards, or with that break both of my machines?

Thanks
Rick

Replace the battery on the mpu pcb, you should not require clear chips unless you get stuck in a code 61 loop after you replace the batt.

Almost always start by replacing the battery. Till you do that you'll never get the correct trouble codes.

Um, Huh? That's a new one. Codes are codes, battery has no control over them...at least not on Bally, Igt, VLC, Sigma, etc that I have ever worked on. Since you require clear chips for most slots, you never want to replace the battery unless it is required due to failure. Good Luck pulling the batts on a VLC for example, if you pull the batts you require clear chips which are so rare that you will now have a sweet boat anchor...

Wow that was rough, I was actually talking about having to replace the battery to get rid of the error 12. Until you get rid of that you won't get any other codes. I have the same machine just trying to help somebody out.
