My bottom 3 lines are out on my LW3. The middle of the 3 dead leads looks like it's broken. I tried using a rear defogger repair kit on the leads going into the glass. Now I will get some flashing occasionally in these dead lines, but not much, but I think I must be close.

Has anyone been successful in using this method of repair? I'm wondering if I should scratch the display where the leads go into the display, it looks like the leads are sandwiched in glass at this point.

I've read about folks doing that, and where in some cases you had to dremel away a bit of glass to get enough lead to work with. I've had some success repairing a 7 digit Williams display in this fashion, but haven't tried on the DMD I've got that has a couple of flaky leads.

In my case, it has the thin plastic film-like leads that are somehow adhered to the glass, and I'm not sure how to re-establish a good connection with those :p

Let us know if you have any luck!

Dead nuts on. Dremmel the glass far enough back until you have enough trace to work with. You have NOTHING to lose at this point right? Right!

We all have dead displays. Forge on my friend you can't make it worth less than nothing. Keep us updated with your results.

Rear Window defrost repair kit or if radio shack has 'em.. the circuit writer pens...

No luck. Tried using my dremel to shave down the glass to the leads, but after applying the conductive paint, it's still not working.

Oh well, it was worth a shot.
