I got a strange problem where my red is faint on my Discs of Tron. Even after adjusting the red bias and gain on the neck board. So I tested the monitor on another game so I can narrow down its NOT a monitor problem. I get nice vivid color when attached to my 60-in 1.

I think I've narrowed it down to this. N82s09N chip. I have tested the resistors 1k, 2k, 10k and 470ohm. prior to the video out circuit. Changed the Q107&Q108. No change in picture.

Has anyone seen this on a MCR boardset before?

I will say my old monitor I had died very brutal. As in new flyback (k7000 which I rebuilt and capped prior to my DoT restoration...and was working nice for about a year) then it developed a crack and was arcing for god knows how long until I noticed the noise...

If anyone has anything I could check or what not let me know... I'm good at repairing MCR boardsets but this one has me baffled.

Changed the 82s09 with one I had on another board. No change. Wierd... I got a few new 82s09's on order...

That is a totally different issue... He has red.. I don't... I have it faint.. well hopefully the new chips fix the issue if not I'm in the market for a new cpu.

welp.. I changed the 82s09 on the board. no change in my red guns. And for shits and giggles.. I hooked it up to another monitor... and red is still faint. I need to eyeball the schematic. Something isn't jiving... Anyone else seen this issue or something close to it. I'm all ears.. if not I'm gonna fork money out for another board set. I'm wondering if targeting the video generator board would be more ideal. I've looked at everything on the cpu board side...

Problem solved. I found that Q102 and Q103 were bad bringing down the video line. I discovered this as the poor scan of the MCR II CPU board. I was targeting the wrong parts. Was on the right path. But lesson learned. I aquired a high detailed scan of the MCRII CPU. :D
