Well, I know this much... that the picture below is of a door to a bowler machine and I would say to a smaller one. Does anyone know which bowler it goes to and would anyone like to make me an offer?
Thanks - Pamela

Doing some poking around books and TAFA, it looks like a mid-1950's shuffle bowler, although the exact one is still a mystery to me. From what I've seen they didn't use that style coin door past 1958. Here are some possibilities:

Select Play (1956) http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=thumbs&db=arcadedb&id=186

Handicap (1956) http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=thumbs&db=arcadedb&id=798

Lightning (1955) http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=thumbs&db=arcadedb&id=1137

Also could be "Pool Alley" (1957) which used a billiard ball in a shuffle bowler cabinet.

There are a boatload more possibilties. TAFA offers searching by year, manufacturer, and keyword (shuffle, in this case). As a side note, United also released Shuffle Alley in 1956, a skee-ball style ball bowling game. United was later acquired by WMS.

As for the value, I can't say for sure. Maybe if you had the rest of the machine... ;)

EDIT: After doing some more poking, I would have to say it's Lightning Shuffle Alley, from United. That door style looks like it was used for 1955 and 1956, and Lightning is the only one I can find with that round bit on the coin slot. I don't know if that's a thing that was different between units. Here is a color pic of a Lightning: http://www.pinrepair.com/bowl/dlight1.jpg . It looks pretty close, although the coin slots are different.

Wow, thanks for all the research! You are correct... it's hard to tell which one it is, but it does look like the lighting shuffle alley. Well, I guess it's only worth something to someone who might have that bowler with the door missing altogether or whose door is in worse condition than mine.

Again... thanks so much for the research. I'll check out TAFA also.
